Zepheniah Nieodemus Mann is the overarching antagonist of Team Fortress 2. He was the founder of Mann Co. and father of Redmond, Blutarch and Gray Mann.
He was voiced by Nolan North (though, according to the TF Comic Wiki, he was voiced by an uncredited Frank Welker).

His Villainous Deeds[]
- He tried to have his own infant son, Gray Mann, killed for being weaker than his brothers and for being abnormally intelligent and able to speak at birth.
- A proud social darwinist hailing from a line of ruthless businessmen, Zepheniah wanted one of his other two sons to one day kill the other to gain full control of the enterprise and be as ruthless a businessman as the rest of the Mann bloodline. The (already dug) grave meant for the loser of the two was very small, meaning Zepheniah wanted one of his sons to kill the other when they were children.
- He owned a plantation, meaning he also owned slaves.
- He abuses and neglects his two legitimate sons, Bluetarch and Redmond, even beyond wanting one to kill the other.
- As the man who left his land to the Mann brothers so they'd fight for it, he is responsible of the Gravel War in the first place and for the many deaths that happened during it. He is fully aware of the effect this would have, as he was made to witness every single battle waged by his two sons.
- He doesn't appear to care at all for wife Bette Mann, as shown as he doesn't seem too concerned that she died after giving birth to their three sons.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- While he passes the baseline by attempting to kill his own son Gray and wanting his other two sons to kill each other, Zepheniah fails the heinous standards of Team Fortress 2 too much considering how he commits no (direct) large-scale damage with his immense wealth. Although the Administrator would eventually surpass Zepheniah's resources to commit her very heinous crimes, his sons Bluetarch and Redmond outheinous him with similar resources, as they started destructive wars and wanted to send one another to suffer in Hell forever. Although he was behind the start of said war and got to witness the results, it's unknown how he feels about all the destruction and death. Many, less resourceful mercenaries like Medic, Soldier or the entire TFC team have also done more heinous actions than Zepheniah.
- He genuinely rewarded "Elizabeth" and Barnabas his tobacco plantation and munitions company respectively. When he found out the former had manipulated him and planned his downfall all along, he was shocked.
- He had some slightly comical moments, such as doing a terrible job of sculpting his own face on Rodin's Thinker and describing the results as him "afraid to sit on the toilet".
- Although he was a nasty piece of work, his horrible fate of being tortured by the Administrator for centuries is played for horror, in-universe and out, to the point it makes him somewhat of a scapegoat. His final death as he and the Administrator run out of Australium is also somewhat played for sympathy, as both her and Zepheniah tear up over all the decades of pointless animosity they spent together, and he dies and decays to dust with her in her arms.
