His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • He ignored Hannah's desperate attempts to reach out to him, which would partially lead to her suicide.
  • He helped the other Bakers Dozen members cover up Bryce Walker's rape of Hannah Baker.
  • He beat up Bryce as revenge for breaking his leg and left him bleeding in the cold, which would later indirectly allow Alex to kill him. He would help the others cover this up and frame Monty de la Cruz.
  • He went around and vandalized the school alongside Alex for fun and ran from cops during the riot.
  • He tried to rape his prom date, only to be stopped by Alex Standall.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • While his brutal assault on Bryce and attempt to rape his prom date both pass the general baseline, he fails the show's heinous standard to Bryce Walker, Monty de la Cruz and Tyler Down, who all do worse with similar resources.
  • He is genuinely tragic as he experienced his father's death and has a perfectionist mother who forces her to hang out with Bryce, no matter how much he dislikes him, and is clearly broken and upset by Hannah's death. He also suffers from loneliness despite how popular he is. He is unable to get proper revenge on Bryce due to the justice system and later gets his legs broken by him, which permanently ends his sports career. All in all, he is a scapegoat.
  • He is genuinely affable unlike many of the other jocks.
  • He cares for many others like Justin, Alex, Clay, his family, Hannah, Chloe and others, and is willing to help them.
  • He shows remorse for a lot of his actions and does many heroic things after Season 1, such as showing the Polaroids used from the Clubhouse to get it shut down.
