| NOTE: This article only covers the symbiote and excludes Eddie Brock, as only the symbiote is portrayed as a villain. Thus, this article should only cover the symbiote aspect of Venom, rather than his host. |

The Venom Symbiote is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Eddie Brock) of the film trilogy of the same name within Sony's Spider-Man Universe and a minor character in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Venom was an alien symbiote who bonded with investigative journalist, Eddie Brock, whom he forms a co-inhabiting partnership with. By using Venom's incredible strength and durability as well as Eddie's intellect and moral conscience they elect to help those in need by fighting against criminals and supervillains while also satisfying Venom's hunger for human flesh.
He was voiced by Tom Hardy.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
In General[]
- He regularly abuses Eddie despite the latter willingly taking him in, pinning him against a wall and throwing him off a plane.
- Although he is obviously not nearly as heinous as Knull or Mysterio, both men have way more resources, so it is extremely unfair to compare Venom to Knull or Quentin Beck.
Venom[]
- He originally intended to help Riot bring the symbiotes to Earth for them to eat everyone in a genocide attempt.
- He escaped Dan's laboratory via an air vent and bonded with a dog, before walking though the hospital and noticing Eddie getting captured by Roland Treece and his men.
- He angrily expressed his hatred of being called a parasite and ordered Eddie to apologize. When Eddie apologized to Venom and asked what they should do next, Venom replied that they could do whatever they want.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage[]
- He attempted to eat Patrick Mulligan out of spite, and later expressed desire to devour Mrs. Chen just because her store had no chocolate available.
- When Eddie Brock is granted one last interview with Cletus Kasady before his execution, Venom is enraged when Kasady insults Brock mid-interview, which leads him to impulsively force Eddie to approach Kasady's cell to attack him with his symbiote tentacles.
- This was not only reckless, but also indirectly led to the birth of Carnage, as Cletus bit Eddie's finger in the heat of the moment, extracting a small piece of tissue from Venom that would later become Carnage in the process. This makes Venom indirectly responsible for all the atrocities Carnage would commit.
- When Eddie calls him out for this, he later engages in a fight with him, attempting to make him leave his house permanently, destroying his $2000 TV, and later destroying his motorcycle, before possessing two unnamed characters and rudely bidding farewell to Eddie as he leaves.
- He initially refused to help Eddie until he stated that he had made him special, despite knowing he was being hunted by Cletus and Shriek.
- When he noticed Carnage ("a red one") envelop Kasady and address him as "father", seeking to eat him, he refused to fight until Eddie promised to let him eat everyone present apart from the priest.
- He and Eddie binge-watch local telenovelas in their tropical vacation cabana. As Venom tells Eddie about the symbiotes' hive mind knowledge of other universes, they are suddenly warped into an unfamiliar hotel room in the MCU, where the pair watch as J. Jonah Jameson discusses Spider-Man's identity as Peter Parker and a "murderer" on television. Venom, recognizing Peter as a criminal, licks the television screen.
Venom: The Last Dance[]
- He presumably planned to eat Eddie’s ex-boss in NYC after hearing about his host's status as a wanted criminal.
- He brutally beat up four Mexican gang members before eating all four heads off.
- He retreated back into Eddie after realizing they were being hunted by a Xenophage, causing him to call off of a plane.
- He headbutted a door usher after he escorted Eddie out of a casino for failing to follow the dress code.
- He smacked a man hard enough to render him unconscious and steals his clothes for Eddie as a disguise just because the man peed on Eddie's feet.
- He gambled the money Martin gave Eddie away and broke the machine when he lost.
- He intentionally led the Xenophage right to him and Eddie by fully transforming in order to dance with Mrs. Chen.
- He murdered several soldiers at Area 55 during the fight with the Xenophages.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- He is an anti-hero and started as on & off, as after he spends time and bonds with Eddie, he ditches his plan on bringing the symbiotes to Earth and instead stops Riot and Carlton Drake from doing so. He also kills Carnage and Cletus in order to stop their killing sprees, before ultimately redeeming himself with his sacrifice and nullifying his On & Off status.
- While he passes the general baseline with his high kill count, he fails the high heinous standards to his fellow symbiote Riot, as the aforementioned genocide attempt was done under his orders. He additionally fails to the following characters below:
- Carnage, a fellow symbiote who went on a killing spree in San Francisco, causing the deaths of way more innocent people.
- Carlton Drake, a mortal human who performed illegal experiments on various homeless people, resulting in their deaths as well as that of several unnamed symbiotes.
- He is often played for laughs, such as the running gag of him disliking being called a parasite, him scaring Eddie to the point he falls into a bathtub, forcing Eddie to embarrass himself in public, demanding food from Eddie and messing up his post, destroying Eddie's apartment during their fight, and shouting in rage after losing at the slot machine.
- He also cares for several people:
- Despite frequently abusing him, he genuinely cares for his owner Eddie, and their friendship is genuine. During his sacrifice, he assures Eddie that he won't forget him and protects him from the explosion. Even before this, he confirmed he was growing fond of Eddie when they broke into his old workplace, and that Eddie made him decide against helping Riot bring the symbiotes to Earth. He even cooks breakfast for Eddie in the second movie to cheer him up out of no pragmatic reason.
- He also cares for Anne Weying, taking a liking to her in the first movie and also prohibiting her from participating in the fight against Riot for her own safety. He even saves her from Carnage in the second movie.
- He also takes a liking to Mrs. Chen, saving her from a robber, going to her store when he couldn't find a suitable host, and dancing with her.
- He is shown to love animals, calling a dog cute, and saying he loves horses as he tells Eddie not to scare the horse before possessing it in the third movie.
- He also shows care for his pet chickens Sonny and Cher, refusing to eat them due to their friendship, being horrified when Eddie threatens to throw the former, and even scolding Eddie for giving them away.
- He’s shown to have standards against animal cruelty, saying he draws the line at dog fighting, and being disgusted at the four gang members, even going as far as saying he wouldn’t eat the dogs.
- He was also genuinely horrified by Carnage's destruction across San Francisco, commenting that he didn't taste good after devouring him.
- He also seems to be fond of families, particularly children, as he expresses his gratitude of not eating the Moon family.
- His supposed death during the climax of the threequel is heavily played for sympathy, as he sacrifices himself in the most agonizing pain by dragging the Xenophages along with himself into a rain of acid to kill them and destroy the Codex to prevent Knull from escaping his prison and conquering the universe. He even protects Eddie from the explosion, and Eddie fulfils his wish to see the Statue of Liberty while remembering him.
