I am a sorcerer now, and my power is beyond compare! No longer will I tire away as your apprentice! Now, all shall call ME master!
~ Vaati after betraying Ezlo.

Vaati, also known as the Wind Sorcerer, is the secondary antagonist of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda franchise, serving as the main antagonist of the Four Swords trilogy.

He was once a Minish boy who was a pupil of the respected Minish sage Ezlo. However, Vaati grew obsessed with the evil he saw in humanity and as a result betrayed and cursed his master during his own quest for power, transforming himself into a dangerous and powerful mage in the process.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

The Minish Cap[]

  • Enters (and probably cheats in) the sword-fighting tournament at the Picori Festival with malicious intent.
  • Opens the Bound Chest and destroys the Picori Blade, releasing monsters into Hyrule.
  • Turns Zelda to stone and knocks Link unconscious when he tries to defend her.
  • In the past, he stole the Mage's cap that his master, Ezlo, made for the humans, put it on without permission, and used it to become a sorcerer and turned his master into a hat.
  • He tries to kill Link and Ezlo by surrounding them with moblins.
  • Impersonates King Daltus and locks him in the dungeon.
  • When he learns the light force is housed within Zelda, he takes her to the rooftop and turns Hyrule Castle into the game's final dungeon, Dark Hyrule Castle.
  • He tries to stop Link via the use of a Ball and Chain Solider, Keatons, and Darknuts.
    • Furthermore, he will actually succeed in extracting the Light Force from Zelda completely if Link doesn't defeat the Darknuts in time.
  • When Link and Zelda escape, he makes one more spiteful attempt to kill the former by turning into Vaati's Wrath and teleporting him to the final battle arena.

Four Swords[]

  • Escapes the seal of the Four Sword and resumes wreaking havoc.
  • Kidnaps Zelda to make her his bride.

Four Swords Adventures[]

TBA

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • While releasing monsters in Hyrule is enough to pass the baseline, he fails the Zelda franchise's high heinous standards too much. While he definitely can't be compared to Demise or Ganondorf, he still fails to Yuga, who trapped various sages and individuals in paintings and endangered Hyrule and Lorule, Bellum, who drained Oshus's life force and attempted to conquer the world (and fails the heinous standard himself), and Ghirahim, who sent his minions to a horrific death, wounded Faron, and revived Demise.
    • Vaati's resources don't help anything, as he has access to almost all of the Light Force, yet he does nothing unique for the series.
