The unnamed Echidna warrior is the overarching antagonist of the 2022 film Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the second installment of the Sonic Cinematic Universe.
While not much is known about their past, it is known that they were one of the members of the Echidna Tribe who forged the Master Emerald. They would use the Emerald for conquest, leading to them being defeated by the Owls and have the emerald taken from them.
Their Evil Ranking[]
Their Villainous Deeds[]
- They used the Master Emerald to destroy entire armies, with at least one army they killed being shown on-screen, giving them a kill count of at least hundreds and at most thousands.
- When the Owls ambushed them to take the Master Emerald, they tried to fight them off, intending to continue using its power for their evil acts.
- Their actions led to the Owls and the Echidnas fighting for centuries, with the Echidnas wanting to reclaim the Emerald for themselves.
- In a sense, they were indirectly responsible for a majority of the events that happened in the cinematic universe, considering their actions would indirectly lead to the Echidnas and Owls attacking each other constantly and Longclaw sacrificing herself to save Sonic.
- This would also lead to the destruction of both the Echidna Tribe and Owls, as both would seemingly end up killing each other.
- Unlike Eggman or Gerald and much like Shadow, they were taken completely seriously.
Why They Don't Stand Out?[]
- While killing off a massive army and starting a war are both bad enough to pass the general baseline, they ultimately fail the heinous standards compared to Professor Gerald Robotnik and Shadow the Hedgehog, who tried to destroy the Earth and kill all humans with less resources due to lacking the Master Emerald, with them also having personal villainy towards the protagonists, with Gerald killing Commander Walters and allowing Team Sonic to take the blame and Shadow nearly killing Tom, thus driving Sonic into vengeance. They also fail to Dr. Ivo Robotnik, who was willing to endanger millions of innocent Londoners without any power since he no longer had possession of the Master Emerald.
- Due to appearing for around thirty seconds and not even making a physical appearance, their characterization and personality isn't expanded upon, with everything about them being left vague, making them a Generic Doomsday Villain. All that is said about them is that they shouldn’t have something extremely powerful like the Master Emerald, and overall, they are mostly a plot device to show the atrocities that could be committed with the Master Emerald rather than an actual character.
Trivia[]
- The warrior was originally considered Near Pure Evil but they were cut for their characterization and personality being too vague, and now with the release of the third movie, they failed the heinous standards to Gerald, Shadow and Ivo too much.
