Uncle Ruckus is the main antagonist of the Adult Swim animated sitcom, The Boondocks which is based on the comic strip of the same name.
He is a self-hating, overweight, homely African-American man with disproportionate eyes. Because of his own name and yet no other relation (blood or whatnot) to other people, he repeatedly says, "My name is Uncle Ruckus, no relation.". He is also Robert's on-and-off friend and Huey's archenemy.
He was portrayed by Gary Anthony Williams.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He is constantly racist towards black people, even children, which is hypocritical since he is also black.
- During the Civil Rights Movement, he protested against Martin Luther King's marches, and would attempt to throw bricks at him.
- While chaperoning the "scared straight" program for children, he tells Riley and Huey that it will be like a trip to the future for them, while telling other kids it’s like a trip to the zoo. Later, he ends up abandoning Riley and Huey during a prison riot with no remorse.
- He along with Ed Wunceler Jr. reinstated slavery, and started abusing many people who were black for no reason other than sadism and hatred.
- When Ed Wunceler Jr. ropes in several minorities to his theme park as his slaves, Uncle Ruckus takes full advantage and uses them as his slaves then demands they call him boss. He even uses a whip against the Freeman’s when they try to protest against him. He then forces Huey to be tied up while getting whipped and shows sadism as he watches Ed Wuncler Jr. attempt to axe Huey's foot off.
Why Doesn’t He Stand Out?[]
- Although he passes the baseline due to his harsh slavery and personal villainy towards Huey, he fails the Heinous Standard to The Booty Warrior, a prisoner with less resources who raped multiple people with less resources as just a prisoner.
- Like most characters in the show, he is played for black humour, with him being a black guy who has a fanatical appreciation for white people and hatred toward blacks, which is constantly played for laughs since he himself is black.
- He is on & off, having occasionally anti-heroic roles where he helps the Freeman Family or other deeds.
- He has a genuine friendship with Robert Freeman and seems to consider him his only friend.
- He has an extremely genuine tragic childhood, as he was brutally and constantly abused by his father, Mister Ruckus, and was eventually kicked out of his own house and forced to survive on his own at a young age.
