NOTE: This article is specifically about Harvey Dent's persona, Two-Face from Joel Schumacher's 1995 film Batman Forever as his alternate counterpart from Batman '89 has yet to be discussed.

Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, is a minor character in Tim Burton's 1989 film Batman and one of the two main antagonists (alongside the Riddler) of Joel Schumacher's 1995 threequel Batman Forever.

He is the former District Attorney of Gotham City who became a supervillain after gangster Boss Maroni disfigured half of his face with acid. He joins the Riddler in a plan to humiliate, unmask, and kill Batman. He is also Robin's arch-nemesis, as he killed his parents and brother while trying to kill Batman.

He was portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • He broke out of Arkham Asylum.
    • It is also implied that he killed Salvatore Maroni as well.
  • He tried to murder Batman even when his coin didn't give him permission to do so.
  • He tried robbing the Second Bank of Gotham endangering a guard even though his coin didn't give him permission to kill him.
  • He recklessly flew his helicopter into a billboard and the Statue of Justice in an attempt to kill Batman. He even accidentally shot and killed the pilot to try to kill Batman, but he showed no remorse for it and just pushed him aside.
  • He was going to blow up a circus unless Batman revealed his identity, killing the Flying Graysons in the process, causing Dick Grayson to swear revenge on Two-Face.
    • Due to killing Dick's family, Two-Face indirectly caused Bruce to develop repressed memories of Jack Napier/The Joker killing his parents and fears that he might lose Dick as well.
  • He was going to immediately kill the Riddler, but his good side stopped him.
  • He joined in on the Riddler's plan to commit robberies and steal the city's intelligence.
  • He joined in on kidnapping Dr. Chase Meridian and tried to kill her.
  • He tried to kill Robin.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • He fails the heinous standards to Joker, who released his Smylex Gas on Gotham‘s citizens, endangering hundreds of lives, and Penguin, who tried to blow up Gotham and drown all the first-born children.
  • He has several severely detracting comedic moments, like having two dinners made for him and his good half, his attacking of Batman's boat in the form of a Battleship game, and his overall zany characterization throughout the film.
  • He has severe moral agency issues due to going insane after getting splashed with acid.
