ā | The Jedi live in a dream. A dream they believe everyone shares. If you attack a Jedi with a weapon, you will fail. Steel or laser are no threat to them. But an acolyte... an acolyte kills without a weapon. An acolyte... kills the dream. | ā |
~ The Stranger to Mae Aniseya |
The Stranger, also known as Qimir, is the main antagonist of the 2024 Star Wars Disney+ series The Acolyte.
A former Jedi-turned Sith Lord who seeks revel in his power without rules or Jedi interference and to expand knowledge of such power by taking an acolyte.
He is portrayed by Manny Jacinto in his first villainous role.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He corrupted Mae Aniseya to the dark side and trained her as his Acolyte, instructing her to kill Indara, Torbin, Kelnacca, and Sol.
- He killed a shop owner and takes his place to blend in.
- He provided Mae with poison to kill Torbin.
- After Mae decided to stop following his orders, The Stranger traveled to Khofar and killed Kelnacca.
- He force pushes Osha Aniseya away before engaging Sol and a group of Jedi. He would then proceed to kill off most of them to keep his identity a secret.
- He taunts Mae for betraying him and attempts to kill her.
- He kills Jecki Lon by stabbing her three times, even worse, sheās just a child. After Sol shouts her name in despair, Qimir responds by saying āwas that its name?ā, implying some racism. He then blames Sol for his death as he brought her on a dangerous mission.
- He kills Yord by snapping his neck and then taunted Sol by revealing to Osha that she shouldnāt trust him.
- Though he claims to Sol that he wants freedom, itās not mitigating as he only wants to wield his power without the Jedi standing in his way, wanting to dominate and Kill without opposition.
- He attempts to corrupt Osha to the dark side as his new Acolyte after Mae betrayed him. He later succeeds once Osha killed Sol out of anger of him killing her mother.
- He wiped Maeās memory to prevent her from telling the Jedi about his existence.
Why He Doesnāt Stand Out?[]
- While 18 murders is enough to pass the baseline, he massively fails the heinous standards to Darth Maul and Pong Krell, who both done way worse with similar resources.
- He mentions to Osha that he was once a Jedi who lost everything and was betrayed by his master, Vernestra Rwoh, making him tragic.
- He seemed genuinely distraught when Osha screamed in despair while wearing the helmet. Itās also heavily implied that he is in love with her. He also has the decency to grant Osha a final goodbye with Mae before wiping the latterās memory
