The Lance has been hunted down for the soul to be collected for the following reason(s): Character is a kill-the-heroes villain whose worst acts are Fridge Horror. Please discuss it on the talk page for this article. |
The Lance is an antagonist in the popular podcast Dungeons and Daddies, which follows an actual-play Dungeons and Dragons campaign. The Lance is a slaver and the opening threat to the four dads, Ron, Glenn, Darryl, and Henry.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He caused the initial plot of the series, by stealing the dads' children via his hunters.
- He is the first real threat to the dads, as his minions stole the children and nearly killed the dads. The Lance's blood pact also causes Darryl a lot of problems during the For Knights arc.
- During the last two episodes of the first season, The Lance leads a small army whilst working for Willy Stampler. He attempts to kill the dads and Grant.
- While comedic, he's taken more seriously than some villains during his first appearance. Overall he was quite pivotal to how the dads viewed the new world they were in, and his actions caused a huge number of problems.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- His massively fails the Heinous Standards to many other villains. He doesn't have the same powers or resources as Willy Stampler or The Doodler, but he does fail to similarly resourceful villains like Sheriff Boreanaz, who tried to summon The Doodler to The Forgotten Realms and tried way more times to kill the dads. Grant does lose quite a bit of his humanity because of how Darryl got the blood pact to end without killing Grant, but The Lance didn't know that would happen.
- He is honorable, as he didn't kill the dads after making a deal with them, which was that Darryl has to kill Grant and eat his skin. Nothing states that The Lance intended to go back on his word, and he only tried to kill the dads after learning that Grant lived. He also shows standards by getting very angry when learning that Grant lost his own dog, and The Lance is shown to love dogs, which is why he calls Grant a "real piece of shit." Also worth noting that he only wanted Grant dead after hearing that he lost the dog.
- He is affable, as he was willing to talk to the dads, and didn't seem to greatly mind getting kissed by Darryl. He also tells his hunters to become farmers instead of fighting, when the tide of the battle turns on them during the season finale.
- He is very comedic, since even in his first appearance he was kissed by Darryl and the players laughed when he mentioned his giant dog's name was "One". In the finale he is treated as more comedic as he commands his people to throw him onto the minivan and then gives up easily after failing.
- He relies heavily on Fridge Horror, since the full extend of his slavery is not elaborated on, and the offscreen selling he did that had onscreen effects was the sons, and each son was shown to be okay. Making it up to interpretation how horrible his slave peddling was, given that all we learn of his dealings is that he has a large book full of names of the people he sold, and the things Three said about him.
- While he appeared intelligent in his first appearance, he was considerably dumber in his last appearance, in which he did crazy things to fight the dads, and then when he lost he and his hunters retreated without putting up more of a fight. Even in his first appearance he didn't consider it suspicious when Darryl kissed him, which was how Henry stole the page from the ledger.
