~ Stella after Stola's told her to leave his house, while also telling him that he would pay for what he did. |
Stella of the Ars Goetia, known as Stella for short, is the main antagonist of the adult-animated black comedy webseries Helluva Boss.
She is the vindictive wife of Stolas, the mother of Octavia, and a member of the royal Goetia family of Hell. After finding out her husband cheated on her with the imp Blitzo, she ruthlessly plotted his assassination and plans to kill him for his infidelity using any means necessary.
She is voiced by Georgina Leahy.
Her Evil Ranking[]
Her Villainous Deeds[]
- A photo of her in her childhood shown to Stolas while his father announced their engagement literally shows her angrily strangling an animal, which clued him in on what she was like and immediately made him cry.
- She's shown to be abusive towards her husband even before he slept with Blitzo, calling him "boring," throwing parties about how they're not divorced yet, and demeaning his performance in bed within direct earshot.
- She's neglectful at best towards her daughter Octavia, carelessly shouting at Stolas while in the same room as her. She outright states she's only glad she had her in the first place so she could stop pretending to want to have sex with Stolas, dismissing her as "[an] egg" in the same sentence. And although her taking Octavia on a weekend trip might be a sign that she cares for her, the revelation of why she stays with Stolas most likely means that she simply does it to cause him further pain.
- She's first seen angrily ranting at Stolas for sleeping with Blitzo in their bed, destroying some of Stolas' plants as she does. It's heavily implied that Stella is not mad at Stolas simply for sleeping with any old person, but specifically with an imp, showing her being very classist.
- She taunts and torments Stolas on every chance she has, supposedly lingering by his mansion on weekends.
- When Stolas told her to get out of his life, she didn't care about him nor even thought on her daughter, and even attempting to strike Stolas, telling him that he had fallen from grace and that he will pay for it.
- While she was forcefully married to Stolas just as much as he was to her, Stolas's response was to spend years trying to make their marriage work for both their and their daughter's sake, and Stella showed a cold indifference at best the entire time.
- She abuses her servants and Stolas' collection of plant-monsters, both simply to vent her rage.
- By her own admission, the reasons she remains married to Stolas is because she enjoys tormenting him.
- While she does later tell Striker not to kill Stolas in Western Energy, this was was only because her brother Andrealphus warned her that everything he owns would go to the heir of the Goetia family, Octavia after his death. Stella would then admits that she still really wanted Stolas dead, showing that she cares about fulfilling her own selfish greed more than her own daughter.
- After officially divorcing Stolas, She lets it slip to Andrealphus that Stolas was letting Blitzo use his Grimoire in exchange for sex, which led to I.M.P. being arrested and nearly executed.
- When it seemed Stolas was about to be executed, she stopped her daughter, Octavia, from leaving the room to go see him, while falsely comforting her as she cried into her arms-smiling evilly as she had done so.
- When Stolas tries to call Octavia, she snatches her phone and forbids her from talking to Stolas while also mocking him.
Why She Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- While her personal villainy and abuse towards Stolas allow her to pass the general baseline, she still doesn't pass the high heinous standard of the Hellaverse. Although it's unfair to compare her to Sera and Adam, she fails the standard to Blitzo who founded I.M.P. and enabled several imps to kill huge amounts of humans, Crimson who killed dozens of people (including Moxxie's mother) and hung up their corpses as trophies on display, and Valentino who sexually abused and raped Angel Dust for the entirety of his afterlife to the point of giving him PTSD, all of whom have way less resources than her. Speaking of resources, she also has the potential to do worse considering that she's a princess.
- She cares for her brother Andrealphus, being worried about what he might think of her if she and Stolas divorce.
- While she is taken seriously more than many Helluva Boss villains, she still has some comedic moments, such as calling Stolas the c-word. This is notable as villains like Striker and Crimson, themselves having a few comedic moments, are treated even more seriously than her.
Trivia[]
- Considering that Helluva Boss is an ongoing web series, there is a slight chance that Stella's status could be affected overtime depending on how far she goes.
- Vivienne Medrano has stated in an interview that Stella will receive a backstory and a look into her own perspective. This could severely affect her moral ranking.
