Steely Dan is a minor antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. He is an Agent of DIO who tries to kill Jotaro and the other Crusaders.
In Japanese, he is voiced by Daisuke Kishio. In English, he is voiced by Grant George.

His Villainous Deeds[]
- Joined DIO purely for the money and presumably did various crimes alongside other Agents of DIO.
- Scammed Joseph by selling him expensive meat.
- Caused Enya Geil's death under DIO's orders by inserting a vampiric flesh bud that DIO provided, who while wasn't a great person, didn't deserve to die the way she did.
- Infected Joseph with his stand and used him as a hostage. He did this to abuse Jotaro, knowing he can't hit him because if Jotaro tried to attack Dan, any pain he would have inflicted would simply transfer to Joseph instead. This even reminded Joseph of when Esidisi and Wamuu inserted their Wedding Rings of Death inside of his body back in Battle Tendency all those years ago.
- Forced Jotaro to partake in various abuse acts out of pure sadism, using Joseph as a hostage.
- He had a child whack his leg with a broom so that Joseph can feel pain, and then he punched the child in the face when he did this a second time.
- Forces Jotaro to steal jewelry from a store then rats him out, causing the owners to attack him. Dan takes advantage of this and steals the jewelry while they are distracted.
- Tries to infect Jotaro with his Stand. When this fails, he tries to use an innocent child as a hostage.
- Once Kakyoin and Polnareff free Joseph from Steely Dan's grip, he tries to cowardly beg Jotaro to not beat him to a pulp, while trying to come up with the excuse that DIO paid him. Jotaro doesn't buy this, as he calls him the lowest scum in history before satisfyingly beating him to a pulp.
- While his cowardly nature and treatment to Jotaro can be pretty funny, along with haggling Joseph, these funny moments only serve to make him more hateable and in fact just add on to his pathetic nature.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- Despite passing the baseline due to his personal villainy towards Jotaro and Joseph and his killing of Enya, and having zero redeeming qualities, he massively fails the heinous standard to Gray Fly (who killed hundreds of people in plane crashes and train accidents), J. Geil (who brutally raped and killed young girls for sadism), and Terence T. D'Arby (who turned his victims into conscious puppets for eternal torment), all of whom has similar resources due to being minions of DIO.
- He also holds back on his resources; With Joseph as a hostage, Dan could have easily just coerced the Crusaders into suicide or following him to Dio but instead wasted his leverage on abusing Jotaro (although this was out of sadism and stupidity rather than having any kind of standard).
