~ Grodus. |
Sir Grodus is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Beldam) of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
He is the leader of the Secret Society of X-Nauts which consists of a band of thugs determined to capture the Crystal Stars, so that they can dominate the world with the treasure behind the Thousand-Year Door. He kidnaps Princess Peach to use her as an offering to the treasure behind the Thousand-Year Door, the 1,000-year-old demon, the Shadow Queen, thinking she'd serve him and remake the world in his image. However, it turns out to be a ruse, and she instead ended up leaving him with nothing but a head.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- Upon being told by the Shadow Sirens that the Shadow Queen would be able to grant him whatever he desires if he frees her, he immediately tried freeing her so he "throw the world into the depths of terror" and build a new world that he could rule with an iron fist.
- He had Peach abducted so she could be used as a vessel for the Shadow Queen.
- He had the Shadow Sirens use a Superbombomb just to kill Mario.
- Upon learning that TEC had been working against him due to feeling love for Peach, he had TEC deleted, even though he knows that TEC has own feelings and sentience.
- Even after all Lord Crump had done for him, he ultimately disposed of him, even calling him his most incompetent underling, showing he did not truly care for Crump.
- After being defeated, he threatened to kill Peach unless Mario surrendered.
- He freed the Shadow Queen and threatened to send her back to the depths if she didn't obey him (though she would've deserved it).
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- He relies on fridge horror since it's not confirmed how bad his rule will be aside from a brief mention about how he will "throw the world into the depths of terror" before taking it over, which doesn't confirm if they will be any deaths.
- As a result of this, he fails the heinous standard to Lord Crump (who tried to detonate a bomb that would wipe out all of the Punies), Doopliss (who tried to kill everyone on the Excess Express), Beldam (who tricked him into releasing the Shadow Queen while knowing how dangerous she was), O'Chunks, Mimi, and Nastasia (who were all assisting attempted omnicide on a much grander scale), all with lower resources than him. It also doesn't help that some of these villains fail the heinous standards themselves.
- It's heavily implied he redeemed himself after being turned into a head along with the other X-Nauts, as he is seen bonding with them and is said to have mellowed a lot.
Trivia[]
- He was once considered a Near Pure Evil, as it was believed that was an omnicide maniac who only fails the heinous standards to King Olly. However, once it was pointed out that he relies too much on fridge horror, fails the heinous standard too much and likely redeemed himself, he was removed and now took up residence in this wiki.
