Hm. So, it's come to this after all. You were always so full of confidence, Mr. Edgeworth. But, I rather like that. Because now... I can rip that confidence to shreds.
~ Simeon, revealing his true self to Edgeworth.

Simeon Saint is the main antagonist of Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Gambit. He is a seemingly timid and odd individual at first, but at the end of the game, he is revealed to be a cold blooded, eccentric, confident, and extremely misanthropic mastermind who believes that people never truly care about each other and always have some kind of ulterior motive for their actions.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • He hired Shelly De Killer to kill Di-Jun Wang's body double, but withheld the truth that it wasn't the real president.
  • He gave his childhood friend, Bronco Knight, the idea to conspire with the body double to stage a fake assassination plot to boost the body double's terrible approval ratings, knowing that Knight would take the opportunity to kill his superior, Bastian Rook, to usurp his position out of envy.
  • Once Knight was imprisoned, he specifically gave Knight one of Kanis's chisels (which investigators believed was requested as a means of helping him escape) after Knight requested a portable chessboard to continue playing correspondence chess with him, knowing that the prison's warden, Fifi Laguarde was terrified of Kanis and would kill Knight on the suspicion that he was one of Kanis's henchmen, which happened exactly as planned.
    • While Knight was far from innocent, Simeon only killed him because he believed that Knight's father was the culprit of the IS-7 Incident and Simeon's father was the victim, yet it turned out to be the other way around, but Simeon felt no remorse for causing Knight's death anyway once he found out about this. Even though Knight almost caused Simeon to freeze to death on the day of the IS-7 Incident by tying him up in a car in the snow, Knight did this on his father's orders and couldn't have known that they would've gotten trapped in the car.
  • When he was accused of Knight's murder, he manipulated Edgeworth and his allies to prove his "innocence" in the crime.
  • Sent letters to Excelsius Winner and Rosie Ringer to goad them into trying to kill each other.
  • After seeing Edgeworth's competence in bringing down both Knight and Laguarde, he kidnapped Edgeworth's friend, Kay Faraday and had her framed for Rosie's murder in order to give him a personal stake in the case and assure his involvement in proving Excelsius's guilt, causing her amnesia as well.
    • He then bugged Kay's Yatagarasu badge in order to eavesdrop on any conversations the person carrying it had.
  • After killing the body double in self-defense, he then took the body to the Berry Big Circus's freezer in order to throw off the time of death, and later tried to make the death look like an accident, getting an idea after noticing that a boy named Shaun Fenn had accidentally knocked over a giant Taurusaurus head in a filming lot. Simeon then lowered the body into the filming lot and positioned the corpse perfectly as to look like it had been crushed.
    • He then kidnapped Shaun in order to blackmail the judge, Verity Gavèlle into giving Laguarde a guilty verdict, causing great stress towards her.
  • After Shaun was rescued and returned safely, Simeon successfully framed him for the murder of the body double, not caring that he was only a 13-year-old that would get life imprisonment or the death penalty.
  • When Edgeworth accused him of being the mastermind behind many recent events, Simeon initially denied it and attempted to gaslight Edgeworth and Kay into thinking he was innocent, which worked on Kay, but Edgeworth kept pushing, which caused Simeon to eventually reveal his true self and the two engaged in a battle of wits.
  • When Edgeworth seemingly had a clue that could reveal Simeon as the culprit, he gives him and his allies false hope that he will be convicted, just so he can laugh at their hope disappearing after revealing that he turned his bug off before they got the information they needed.
  • When Shaun was contemplating if he should kill Kanis for revenge or not, (as the real president was his biological father) Simeon encouraged him, telling him that revenge would make him feel good and he would become completely numb afterwards.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • He fails the heinous standards to Dahlia Hawthorne, who targeted more people and had more personal cruelty while having similar resources to him.
  • While Simeon caused the death of innocent people like Bastian Rook or Rosie Ringer, or at least put them in danger like Kay Faraday and Shaun Fenn, his intended targets were criminals who abused their power for selfish reasons. Even Bronco Knight, the less deserving of his targets, helped with the double's fake assassination and killed Rook to take his position. This lowers his heinousness since half of his victims were dangerous people and causing their deaths caused less harm than it would have caused killing only innocent people.
  • He is too tragic to be NPE, as he was a victim of an unfortunate series of events that led to his life getting ruined and him having to spend the next 12 years of his life in intense paranoia and fear out of Excelsius, Laguarde and the body double wanting to kill him, which also caused him to become completely incapable of trusting others and believing in trust in general. And due to them being in charge of the law, Simeon felt he had to take matters into his own hands, which even Edgeworth understands, as if Simeon could have relied on the courts, he might not have turned out how he did, and this motivated Edgeworth to want to fix the law in order to make sure no one would have to do something like Simeon did ever again.
  • He gets along well with Bodhidharma Kanis, wanting to repay Kanis for saving his life. During his breakdown, he also proclaimed that Kanis was the only one helped him.
