The Screaming Death is a major antagonist of Dragons: Defenders of Berk. It is a giant species of dragon that is revealed to be a subspecies or a mutated version to the Whispering Death. However, there is only one Screaming Death, and it is born every one hundred or so years. The Screaming Death has all the strengths of its subordinate cousin, the Whispering Death, with none of its weaknesses. It is the most powerful dragon Berk has faced since the Red Death.

- He and his Whispering Death siblings attacked Berk once they hatched.
- He kept on digging and sinking multiple islands, forcing the dragons living on them to evacuate.
- He later attacked and nearly destroyed Dragon Island.
- He attempted to kill Snotlout and Hookfang.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- Though he passed the general baseline, by destroying islands, he still failed the high heinous standard of some other villains of the franchise.
- He has a sympathetic motivation. The reason he caused so much destruction is just because he is trying to find his mother, Groundspitter which means that the destruction he caused are unintentional.
- He stopped destroying islands after he reunited with his mother.
