Sasuke Uchiha is the deuteragonist of the Naruto anime and manga series and a major character in the Boruto series. He is the best friend and rival of the titular protagonist Naruto Uzumaki. He later becomes the husband of Sakura Haruno and the father of Sarada Uchiha.
He is the sole surviving member of the Uchiha Clan, and his life's goal was to avenge his clan by killing his older brother, Itachi Uchiha. He left the village to join Orochimaru as a means of accomplishing this goal, and eventually became an enemy to Naruto, but after fighting him at the Final Valley, he redeemed himself and returned to the Hidden Leaf Village.
In the sequel series, he now spends his time around the world, researching sources or connections to Kaguya in case a threat comes to the world again, and mentors Naruto's son, Boruto.
He is voiced by Noriaki Sugiyama in Japanese and by Yuri Lowenthal in English.

- When he unleashed the power of his curse mark for the first time, he brutally ripped off both Zaku's arms.
- Tried to kill Naruto with Chidori at the Valley of the End (though he ultimately decides to let Naruto live).
- He betrayed the Leaf village and joined Orochimaru to train with him for his lack of power to beat Itachi.
- Berated Team 7's attempts to reason with him and bring him back to the village.
- He threatened to kill Naruto in his first meeting after 2 years.
- After realizing that his brother was kind and was ordered by the Leaf village to kill his clan, he blamed the Leaf Village and wanted to destroy it and kill everyone living there, including the innocent civilians.
- Joined the Akatsuki, a terrorist organization.
- Tried to capture Killer Bee along with the rest of Taka for the Akatsuki. His attempted abduction of Bee almost led to a war between the Leaf and Cloud village.
- Cut down 11 samurai from the Land of Iron with the intent to kill them. It is unknown how many of them actually died from this, but later he collapsed the entire room while fighting the Kages, burying most of the fallen samurai under the rubble, so they are likely dead. After the room collapses, Sasuke orders Karin to locate the other Kage, choosing to abandon both Jugo and Suigetsu.
- He almost murdered Karin to stab Danzo.
- Tried to kill Sakura twice (though she was trying to kill him) as well as Kakashi after beating Danzo and didn't listen to Naruto at this moment.
- After defeating Madara and Kaguya he refuses to break up Mugen Tsukuyomi and attempted to kill the 5 Kage.
- Used Chibaku Tensei to temporally incapacitate the tailed beasts.
- Wanted to proclaim himself a Kage and control everybody, killing everyone that opposes him.
- Ignored Sakura's pleas to come back and knocked her out with a genjutsu so she wouldn't interfere with his fight with Naruto.
- Tried to kill Naruto in their final battle.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- Despite passing the baseline, he fails the high heinous standards to the Black Zetsu (who started several wars), Obito Uchiha (who attacked the Hidden Leaf Village, indirectly killed his mentor, started the Akatsuki terrorist group and helped Madara carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan) to enslave the population), Madara Uchiha (who enslaved the entire human population), Danzō Shimura (who ordered the Uchiha clan mass murder) and even Itachi Uchiha (who killed his own clan) all of whom have less resources than him by the time he awakens his Six Paths abilities.
- During his time as a villain in Part 2, he is anti-heroic in some moments such as:
- In the anime, Orochimaru has him fight one thousand soldiers, but Sasuke didn't want to kill them, so he keeps all of them alive and just knocks them out instead.
- After deciding to beat Itachi himself, he turned against Orochimaru and stopped him from taking over his body for nefarious reasons.
- His first main goal was to defeat Itachi by forming the Hebi team.
- He once again shows that he didn't want to kill anyone unrelated to his revenge when he established a no-killing policy to Hebi team.
- He initially didn't want to kill Deidara, only wanting information about Itachi.
- He defeated Danzo, a corrupt official who was responsible for the massacre of his clan and commited various other horrible atrocities and would've continued too.
- He killed the original White Zetsu from the Akatsuki.
- He joined the war and teamed up with Naruto and Sakura against Obito, Madara and Kaguya.
- He asked Orochimaru to resurrect the 4 Hokages to get more explanation of how works a shinobi, a village and about his brother to Hiruzen, then during the war he helped defeat Kaguya and Black Zetsu, ending the latter's plans for good.
- Even when he decided to kill the Kages, he only did it because he believed that the Great Nations will wage war against each other even after all of their major enemies are gone, and wanted to make himself the most hated person so that the Ninja World can know peace. He abandons this path once Naruto makes clear they will still be allies nonetheless.
- While it doesn't excuse his actions, he had genuine sympathetic insecurities stemming from Naruto's ability to maintain bonds with other people. He also would get compared to his genius brother Itachi all of the time in favor of his parents.
- He is extremely tragic as he had his aforementioned insecurities while also eventually watching his brother murder his entire family in front of him, then being tortured for several days, leading to him going insane and suffering from PTSD. This would also cause him to isolate himself from other people. While he was popular with other people in his village (mainly the girls who had a crush on him), due to his inability to form bonds with other people, he ended up being deeply lonely with nobody able to understand him for several years.
- He cares for many other including:
- Most notably, he idolizes his older brother, Itachi, despite the fact that he is jealous of him. The two would always play and train together, which were some of Sasuke's happiest moments. Sasuke only began to hate his brother when he murdered their entire clan, which Itachi purposefully did so he would hate him and seek revenge on him. After finding out Itachi had a noble goal, however, he becomes hell-bent on avenging his brother, being the main motive for desire to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village who wronged him. Later, when Itachi resurrects due to Kabuto's Edo Tensei, he reuinites with his brother and the two take down Kabuto together. After this, the two have a tearful goodbye to each other. Even in the present, he still views Itachi as a role model and uses his teachings as a way to be a good father to Sarada.
- He also cared for his parents and greatly sought their approval. His mother was really nice to him and he loved her in return, giving him tips on how to impress his father. While his relationship with his father was more estranged, he still genuinely loved him and sought his approval, becoming excited when he started to notice him.
- He saw Shisui as a cousin-like figure and looked up to him.
- He seemed to care for various other members of his clan, like a group of elderly shopkeepers.
- In Part 1, while he is a jerk to them and later temporarily subverts this when they became enemies, he grew to genuinely care about Team 7, viewing them as a family.
- While they fought a lot as rivals, he became Naruto's best and first friend (other than Skikamaru). He would even step in the way of Haku's needles to protect Naruto, which could've killed him had Haku wanted it too. He also protects them various other times, like when Itachi arrives at the village. Even when he defeats Naruto during their first battle, he refuses to kill him for no pragmatic reason.
- He grows to care for Sakura and eventually gets married to her and they have a daughter together. Although he was distant from them at first, he cares greatly for his wife and daughter, attempting to bond with them and spending family time regularly, while teaching Sarada training in his own way.
- He respects Naruto' son, Boruto, and becomes a mentor to him.
- After his defeat against Naruto he redeemed himself, and permanently became a hero, assisting the Hidden Leaf Village as the hokage's right-hand, protecting it from threats.
