Salvatore "Big Pussy Bonphensiero is a major antagonist in the HBO crime drama series The Sopranos. He is Tony Soprano's best friend who becomes an FBI Informant to avoid prison time. Tony is deeply hurt to discover this and murders him. He was played by Vincent Pastore.

- He fails the heinous standards to Ralph Cifaretto who does worse with similar resources.
- He cares about multiple people.
- He loves his children and wants them to have a good education.
- He was devastated by his sister's death from cancer when she was young.
- Despite the betrayal he was fond of Tony and felt guilty about betraying him.
- He was like an uncle to AJ and showed genuine concern for him when he began to act like out, consoling him at his confirmation and telling him how much his dad loved him.
- His death is played for sympathy as he is killed by people he considered friends and even his murderers are shown to take no pleasure in it.
- He is affable despite his criminality and is quite genuinely respectful to others most of the time.
