Rough and Tumble are supporting antagonists in the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comics and the two secondary tritagonists of the Bad Guys Miniseries.

Their Evil Ranking[]

Their Villainous Deeds[]

  • They used the Wispons to enslave the townsfolk and take over Barricade Town. The villagers has no choice but to comply the duo's demands as they had nothing to fight back with, and it remained that way until months later when Sonic and Knuckles went to investigate.
  • They were angered at Sonic and Knuckles for interrupting their fun and began their combat.
  • Rough stink bomb on Knuckles, Tumble then picked up his dazed brother and Rough recovered before they both grabbed some Wispons in attempt to turn the tides of the fight.
  • After they were defeated, Tumble promised that they will escape and come after Sonic and Knuckles. Rough curses them as well, saying that they have made life-long enemies of himself and Tumble.

Battle For Angel Island[]

  • They kidnapped Dr. Eggman from the remote village he currently resided in due to his amnesia because Starline made a deal with them if they give Eggman to him and restore his memories Eggman would build them weapons to use for their revenge on Sonic.
  • They bring Eggman to the Final Egg and strapping him up, and they ignored Eggman's pleas of freeing him, watching the doctor receive electric shocks by Starline. They get frustrated by Starline and promised that they give Eggman. Eggman would build them weapons for them for their revenge on Sonic.
  • Rough complained to Eggman on the received blueprints for their new weapons.

Curse of the Pyramid[]

  • Rough stepped on a trick switch which made the walls closer to them. Tumble was still suspitious of the pyramid which promted Rough to remind him that they are not scared of anything.
  • Rough used his noxious stretch on Rouge and ran off with Tumble. They where interrupted by a Egg-Golem. They continued to fight the Egg-Golem.

Infection[]

  • They went to Windmill Village where they trapped the villagers in the community center and left the beaten villager head hanging from a tree.
  • Tumbles tries to crush Sonic with his mechanical tail but it's soon destroyed using windmill's blade while Rough would faced Tails alone. Rough used his stink bomb condensor to launch a large stink nomb at Tails and they revealed that they where working for Dr. Starline.
  • Rough asked Eggman to give them another chance to take on Sonic. Rough tried to speak against Metal Sonic but was quickly silenced by him.
  • They demand the doctor new weapons or they will take over his hideout.
  • They track Sonic and Amy Rose to Eggman's old base at Echo Mine and drill thorugh the walls of the mine to pursue them. Tumble tries to blast the heroes with a mounted turret.
  • They decide to activate their backpacks believing they were backup weapons. Instead, Rough and Tumble become drenched with the Metal Virus and transformed into Zombots.

Bad Guys[]

  • They subsequently take over Barricade Town again but were defeated by the Wispon-armed villagers and thrown into the maximum-security wing of Everhold Prison where Mimic and Zavok as well.
  • They were amused when Starline compare Mimic's intelligence to that of their stupidity.
  • They claimed they were only pretending to trust Dr. Starline from the beginning (which wasn't true) after Zavok told them Starline planned to betrayed all of them.
  • They try to kill Starline after he outlives his usefulness. (Although he deserved it)

Trial by Fire[]

  • They work for Clutch the Opossum, their jobs being to move crates containing badniks part through the sewer from a warehouse on Central City's docks. Rough stumbled upon the Chaotix, causing him to drop the crates. Rough tried to attack Vector but got tripped by his crocodile tail and was soon stung by Charmy.

Rough Patch[]

  • They went to Spiral Hill village to continue their petty theft business.
  • Tumble argued with Rough about their rhymes being slant, saying no one will take them seriously. Rough was more issued explaining their next plan, Tumble pressed the issue, saying their reputaion is at stake, and refused to listen to his "dumb" plan if his rhymes are "just as dumb".
  • Rough got angry about Tumble calling his plans dumb and challenged Tumble to make his own. tumble yelled at Rough's face that he would and without him. Rough got it in his face as well and said he couldn't rhyme better if he tried rhyming himself that moment, Tumble composed himself and walked out, saying that a slant rhyme. Rough yelled at him to get out and never wants to see him again.
  • Rough approached Tangle begs her to join him in stealing the Chaos Emerald, claiming it is vigilante work and admits he won't know what to do if he doesn't have someone to boss around.
  • Rouge and Rough were also in the museum that night to steal the Emerald. Rough was very angry that they where there.
  • As Rough and Tumble fought, Rough admitted that he didn't know Rough and Rouge would be there and he lied to Tangle so he could steal the Emerald. The two skunks realized that they had the same plan.
  • Before they could try to steal the emerald, they were knocked out by Rouge and Tangle. They both agree to not team up with anyone again.

Misadventures[]

  • They attempt to rob Vanilla’s house while she’s gone, fight Gemerl, try to take Cream as a hostage, and ruin the dinner Cream was preparing.

Spring Broken[]

  • Rough switches the labels of a bag of soil and herbicide, tricking Charmy into killing Silver’s plant so he can win the flower competition.

Phantom Riders[]

  • They tied up Belle in a locker with Tumble’s red ribbon under Clutch’s orders.
  • When Tails, Amy, and Belle went to tell Jewel that Clutch was running Clean Sweep Inc., Rough and Tumble stopped them and revealed they were Dr. Yolk and Nick. They called in backup before chasing the heroes and eventually brought Clutch to them.

Why They Don't Stand Out?[]

  • They fail the heinous standard compared to other villains in the IDW comics.
  • Their worst crimes are attempting to kill the heroes and taking over Barricade Town making them generic.
  • They are comedic as they aren't taken seriously enough to be PE or NPE.
  • They are incompetent, this is proven when Dr. Starline planned on betraying them because they caused problems at the wrong times.
  • Despite their arguing at times, they do care for each other this was shown in Rough Patch despite them argue each other and they no longer wants to see each other when they see that they had the same plans on stealing the Chaos Emerald. They both hugged each other, broke into tears and apologized to each other for fighting.
  • They are loyal to other villains when they team up with them.
  • They have standards as they were angry at Dr. Starline for planning to betrayed all of them including Rough and Tumble and even was mad at Dr. Starline for infecting them with the Metal Virus at them (although it was Dr. Eggman who tricked them into infecting themselves).
  • It's possible they're honorable as Rough kept his promise about giving Sonic and Tails answers about Dr. Eggman if they defeated him and Tumble, although Dr. Starline warped them away before he could.
  • They're on and off as they have shown that they can do good stuff.
    • During the war between the Eggman Empire and the Resistance, Rough and Tumble help Barricade Town by ferociously driving back the invading Badniks (though they did take over after).
    • When Zavok, Dr. Starline and Mimic were cornered by a mechanical Tyrannosaurus Rex, they help them with their Grand Stink Bomber Slam destroying the mechanical Tyrannosaurus Rex in the process.
    • They seem to show genuine remorse after ruining the dinner Cream was making when she cries and Vanilla returns home, even apologizing and promising not to do any more crimes that day.
    • They quit working for Clutch and help the heroes escape the Restoration Shuttle, not even betraying them afterwards.
