~ Rody, as Joebotnik defeats Rody and effectively hampered his brainwashing plan from working. |
Rody Soul, better known as The Bird and The Swift Thief, is a minor antagonist during Part 14 of Joe's Cosmic Saga. He is a desperate hard-worker with a public reputation as a thief. He tried alluring Joe into his home and tried befriending Joe just to manipulate him into a love affair. Despite this setback, his zoophillia gets himself into trouble more often than not.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
Background[]
- He is known as an infamous thief on the streets who is feared by many people for committing theft numerous times, despite being a poor civilian in the bird-loving Shanty Town of Otheon.
- His zoophilic traits by acting flirtatious towards animals, such as his pet bird, often makes him a creep.
- He subverts any of the admirable qualities that his anti-heroic counterpart once had, and has became more of a deceptive "faux affable brainwasher" whose underhanded and devious traits were vilified once he tried manipulating Joe into a love-triangle relationship.
Joe's Cosmic Saga[]
- Once Joe got to bond with him, he mentions how Joe bonding with Rody was a test of trust, and he then acts perverted towards Pino and treats her as a love object (exhibiting his zoophilia from the get-go).
- To make matters worse, once Joe thought to leave with some politeness, Rody then sent Pino to fly and stalk Joe while the latter was flying home and she attempts driving him insane for simply not wanting to be Pino's lover as Rody intended, sending the bird to attempt brainwashing him. Making Joe get paranoid and returning to Rody so Joe could snap some sense into him.
- He's aware of Pino's seductive nature, when Joe saved Rody from getting himself brainwashed by Pino, he was angry and sly since he wanted to be brainwashed and wanted Joe to kiss the bird and be her lover so Rody can be in a relationship with Joe since Pino is a part of Rody (which would've brainwashed and mind-controlled Joe if he did just that).
- He also commits extortion and coercion by demanding Joe to kiss the bird (even after Joe got Pino to be stuck in a cage Rody can keep and left Pino with a bird to be in love with), which made Joe subject him into defeat.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- He ultimately fails the heinous standards to Mitsuki Bakugo, who raped Joe four times, mind controlled Joe and was willing to take control of Joe even if she commits adultery, acting dictatorial over him and is a serial rapist who raped 30 teenagers before she met Joe.
- Despite being somewhat heinous, he also fails to Mount Lady, a villainess who nearly allowed her heating emotions nearly endanger the town of Musutafu and almost causing local heat exhaustion and the grounds of the town almost cracked in halves in doing so.
- He once suffered from a genuine tragedy with him getting fired from applying to a engineer job. This was played for sympathy, however, the way he was going to brainwash Joe to achieve his goals (despite Joe helping him make a better living at the end), is what completely subverts this tragic trait of his and creates "fake tragedy" at the end (making Rody deserve karma for his selfish actions).
- He is protective of his pet bird Pino and his siblings he does his best to provide for.
- Despite being taken fairly seriously as creepy and a bit of a threat to Joe whose crimes are somewhat intensified, there are moments where Rody isn't taken seriously. Especially his defeat with Joe summoning a woman named Jennifer to smother him with affection (much to Joe's delight and Rody's annoyance).
- His wrathful tendencies were also played for comic effect when Joebotnik tricks Rody's bird into being a cage with a muscular bird named Rhino and Joe acts smug as he foiled Rody's brainwashing "love-triangle" scheme. Which makes him a little bit comedic in this instance.
- He is a anti-villainous parody of Rody Soul, which means he isn't meant to be taken too seriously.
Trivia[]
- He, Minoru Mineta and Mount Lady are the only characters during Part 14 of Joe's Cosmic Saga, to be villainous parodies of their heroic canon counterparts in the My Hero Academia universe.
