Aleksei Sytsevich, better known as Rhino, is a supporting antagonist in the 2018 video game Marvel's Spider-Man and the secondary antagonist of its 2020 spin-off Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. He is a supervillain in a mech suit resembling a rhinoceros and is one of the most well-known enemies of the famous superhero, Spider-Man and the arch-rival of Miles Morales.
After spending years restrained in the Raft, the armored brute is released by Doctor Octopus, who makes him part of his supervillain group the Sinister Six.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He presumably committed many crimes as a Russian mob enforcer, even before becoming an infamous super-villain.
- During Spider-Man's 8 years as a superhero, he attempted to brutally kill the hero many times and he caused mass property damage which very likely claimed multiple lives in the process.
- He willingly became a part of Doctor Octopus’ Sinister Six in exchange for his armor being removed.
- During the Raft prison break, he caused as much chaos as possible with him smashing most of the prison up with his bare hands.
- He brutally beat up Spider-Man on the Raft rooftop, punching and stamping on the hero as hard as he could multiple times.
- He helped Electro destroy one of two targeted police departments,
- He crushed a prisoner’s head and killed him just for making a joke about his suit.
- He crushed two Sable agents with one of their cars for supply routes and schedules. He also showed no care when Scorpion stabbed one of them when they didn't answer his question about the supplies.
- He attempted to chase and kill Miles when he unintentionally alerted him and Scorpion of his presence.
- He crushed two Sable agents’ heads until Spider Man arrived to fight him.
- He attempted to kill Spider-Man many times throughout their fight at the docks, with Scorpions help,
- He rammed Scorpion into a container after he grew sick of his verbal abuse. Though to be fair, Scorpion did deserve it.
- According to Jameson, in between the original game and Miles Morales, he tried to escape prison once again.
- When accidentally freed by Miles Morales, Rhino caused as much destruction as possible while fighting Spider-Man while also endangering many civilians.
- He came very close to killing Peter by beating him to near death and throwing him into an electrical power generator, even sadistically mocking Miles by saying it will be just as fun to kill him as well as his mentor.
- He worked with Simon Krieger and Prowler to capture Miles and Tinkerer. He also destroyed both the top of Trinity church and the graves at the location as well in the process. He also smashed Miles head on one of the graves as well.
- He attempted to kill Miles and Tinkerer despite them being late teenagers. While he was not aware of Miles identity, he was very likely aware of Tinkerer's as shown with how Krieger told him her story.
- He sadistically taunted Tinkerer about her brother Rick Mason's death, even coldly saying it was her fault.
- Though he is presumably tragic due to wanting to be free of his suit, he more than likely deserved it due to already being a bad person before he became the Rhino. Given his sadism, Rhino likely wouldn’t have stopped causing destruction even after removing the suit.
- While he claims he wants to remove his suit and return to being a normal human, this doesn’t mean he wants to redeem himself as he likely would continue to commit crimes if he did get his suit removed.
Why He Doesn’t Stand Out?[]
- He fails the heinous standards to villains like Doctor Octopus, Mister Negative, Kraven and Scorpion (who already fails the standard himself, albeit to a lesser degree). He also suffers from Fridge Horror as it’s unconfirmed if anyone died during the destruction he caused. The rest of his actions just amount to kill the heroes villainy, making him bog standard.
- He is too comedic as he is treated as a complete joke by Spider-Man, who makes jokes about his anger issues and his over the top reaction to Spidey's jokes are also clearly meant to be played for laughs. His hatred of chase a goose, is also played comedically in both games.
- Scorpion verbally abusing him is played for sympathy. It's to the point, that many have considered him attempting to kill Scorpion in the container justified and not even a truly evil thing to do.
- He seemed quite appalled by Scorpion's lack of principles and sick sense of humor, showing some standards.
