I am Reptile, and I do not answer to you. Fight!
~ Reptile to Taven in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon's Konquest Mode.

Syzoth, better known as Reptile, is a reptilian warrior from a destroyed realm called Zaterra and an antagonist from the Mortal Kombat series of fighting games. Unlike most of his fellow villains, Reptile's motives are mostly selfless as he wants to restore his race.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

Original Timeline[]

  • He faithfully served as Shang Tsung's protector in the first tournament. Being a master of stealth, he stayed hidden and constantly watched over Shang Tsung, staying true to his duty.
  • He was sent by Shao Kahn to find and, if necessary, kill Kitana.
  • He took the opportunity to join Shinnok's Army of Darkness as a commander race.
  • He joins the Forces of Darkness and is killed during the final battle.

Alternate Timeline[]

  • He appears during the Earthrealm invasion after Shao Kahn lost, so it is possible he carried out multiple assassinations.
  • He shot his tongue at Kabal, incapacitating him.
  • With Shang Tsung, (Who morphs into the Shape of Bi-Han.) They tried to kill Smoke.
  • He tried to kill Sub-Zero.
  • He impulsively assumed D'Vorah was working with Earthrealm when he spotted the Earthrealmers. Following this, Kahn declares war on Earthrealm and tells his men to ready the army.
  • Was very close to killing Takeda.
  • He spat his acid onto Takeda's face which temporarily blinded him.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • He is genuinely tragic; his home realm of Zaterra was destroyed by Shao Kahn, and Reptile is one of the last known surviving members of his race.
  • He only joined Shao Kahn because he wants his Saurian race back, which is a sympathetic reason despite being evil.
  • Unlike most of his fellow villains, Reptile's motives are mostly selfless as he wants to restore his race.
  • During Mileena's reign in the alternate timeline, He wasn't very pleased with it, and it is revealed that Reptile is aware that she isn't Shao Kahn's real daughter, but rather a Clone created by Shang Tsung.
  • He reveals to everyone the truth about Mileena's true origin after she refuses to make peace with Earthrealm and fight against the Netherrealm.
  • After Mileena and Her forces were defeated, he imprisons the former.
  • He aided the Special Forces to fight against Havik.
  • He fails the heinous standard to other villains like Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Quan Chi and Shinnok.
