Tomorrow, find that girl, you walk up to her and be like, "hey".
~ Aaron Davis to Miles, and his most famous quote.
Hello, Mr. Fisk, I've got the security tapes from the tunnel right here; if the kid's out there, I'll find him. [takes off mask] You know me, sir, I don't ever quit.
~ Prowler talking to the Kingpin and unknowingly revealing himself to an invisible Miles.
Nowhere left to run.
~ Prowler with Miles at his mercy.
No, Miles, I’m sorry. I wanted you to look up to me. I let you down, man, I let you down. You're-you’re the best of all of us, Miles, you’re on your way, just-just keep going; just keep going.
~ Aaron's last words before his death as he encourages Miles to live normally in spite of difficulty.

Aaron Davis, also known as the Prowler, is a major antagonist in Sony Pictures Animation's 18th full-length feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the first installment in the Spider-Verse trilogy.

He was Jefferson Davis's brother and Miles Morales' uncle who secretly operated as an eminent hitman and top enforcer for the Kingpin until the events of the film.

He was voiced by Mahershala Ali.

His Evil Ranking

His Villainous Deeds

  • He aided Kingpin by preventing Spider-Man from deactivating the Super Collider, even though he told him, Kingpin, and Tombstone that it would create a black hole that would suck in all of Brooklyn.
  • He instantly became aware to Miles' presence at the Collider room and pursued him on Kingpin’s orders, chasing him through the subway and through the streets on his motorcycle, and a couple of days later, right at his apartment and on the streets on his vehicle again.
    • Even if he didn't know the person he was after was his nephew, he did know he was a minor but still intended on killing him.
  • He caused a road accident involving a truck and two cars at the end of his second chase of Miles. Even if close inspection shows that all the airbags had activated, he still endangered those people and there's a high chance some of them were injured.
  • Upon breaking into May Parker’s house, he tried to kill Miles and get the USB one last time before he unmasked himself.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?

  • Despite passing the baseline due to causing a road accident that endangered multiple people and being aware that the Collider would destroy all of Brooklyn via a black hole, he doesn't fully stand out from Kingpin and Doctor Octopus as he doesn’t know the true threat scale of the Collider (as it can endanger the multiverse) and him trying to kill Spider-Man to prevent him from stopping the Collider is under Kingpin’s orders, along with the rest of his crimes.
  • He genuinely loved his family:
    • He had a good relationship with his nephew, Miles, and tried giving him advice on how to talk to girls when he came to his apartment. When learning that the new Spider-Man was none other than Miles himself, he was horrified by the realization that he had been trying to kill his own nephew and backed down, which resulted in his death via being shot in the back by Kingpin.
    • Despite being estranged from his brother and them choosing opposite life paths (one a police officer and one a criminal), he held no resentment toward him at all, defending him when talking to Miles at the bowels of a subway and was audibly sad that he and Jefferson no longer got along like they did in their youth.
  • His death is played for sympathy as he apologized to Miles for everything he had done and told him that he is the best of his family and to continue on with his life, holding Miles' hand who is grief-stricken as Aaron gives in to his wounds and dies.
