The Oogie Boogie Man, better known as Oogie Boogie, is the main antagonist of The Nightmare Before Christmas franchise. He is also Jack Skellington's arch-nemesis.
He was voiced by the late Ken Page.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
In General[]
- He is shown to be the only truly evil resident of Halloween Town, especially since the whole town which loves scaring is scared of him.
- While he may seem fearful of Jack, he's not afraid to fight him and kill him and it doesn't take long to happen.
- Him being made of insects represents his frightening nature in addition to having next to no redeeming qualities, further symbolizing his evil.
- While he has some comedic moments such as him constantly mocking Santa Claus throughout the film, or lustfully tickling Sally's leg, these moments are only funny to the audience and do not detract from his serious moments, as the characters and the narrative still take him seriously.
Movie[]
- At the beginning of the film, he claims to be "the shadow on the moon at night" that fills your dreams to the brim with fright. Granted the vivid clarity that he enjoys causing people nightmares, itās beyond assured to assess he does so every night.
- During the same intro song, the others state āweāre monsters, but weāre not mean!ā, referring to Halloween Townās general population apart from him.
- As such, heās been an outcast since long before the Main storyās events, having been excluded from Halloween Town for his harmful and cruel ways of scaring.
- During the song "Kidnap the Sandy Claus" song, it is shown that he is a cannibal as he regularly makes his "Snake and Spider Stew": his own special, despite being made out of multiple bugs.
- Lock, Shock, and Barrel themselves seem vividly familiar with his cruelty, even calling him āthe meanest guy aroundā in their words.

- After Jack saved Sally and Santa, he tried to kill Jack by having him shot to death with his firing-squad wildcards and mutilate him with a giant buzz saw blade.
Kingdom of Hearts[]

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- While he passes the baseline through committing cannibalism by eating the bugs that compose of his sack, the rest of his actions do not stand out past this; additionally, while he does have skeletons in his lair, it's unclear if they're actually the skeletons of people he killed or not.
- Also, Lock, Shock, and Barrel have firm lucidity to know better as well as sadistic personalities to torture innocents in their own excessively cruel ways entirely on their own accord, this causes him to fail to stand out enough from them. Resources donāt help him in comparison, as he not only supplies them, the three themselves are literally part of his arsenal supply.
