“ | Hey, you! Get over here! A little bit closer…Oh, I know what it is. You’re afraid, cause I’m the uhh…the BIG BAD WOLF!! Well, I’m not surprised. I AM the villain of every story. | „ |

“ | Yeah, they're a bit eccentric, but when you're us, you're born us. You don't exactly win many popularity contests. Do I wish people didn't see us as monsters? Sure I do. But these are the cards we've been dealt, so we might as well play 'em. | „ |

Mr. Wolf is the main protagonist of the 2022 DreamWorks animated film The Bad Guys.
He is voiced by Academy Award-winner Sam Rockwell.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He has been pick-pocketing and organizing capers with his gang for years, stealing more for the thrill of it than for any gain, and originally revels in him and his friends' infamy as feared criminals.
- He plans to steal the Golden Dolphin to go down in criminal history.
- He is a very reckless driver, endangering himself, his friends and multiple people on the road while escaping from the police, and it's also possible that he could have caused deaths while recklessly driving.
- He has Webs cause a few car crashes on the road so that his gang get away from the police during car chases. He also caused a lot of hacking with the assistance of Webs.
- He directly orders Piranha to assault several innocent people.
- He originally wants to just feign redemption to get the police off his and his gang's tails, though his intention to redeem himself later becomes genuine.
- Confused on what to do with the kitten up the tree, Wolf initially suggests smacking it, despite the kitten not being fully grown.
- He wanted to assault and most likely kill Professor Marmalade when he revealed his true colors, though he quickly comes back to his senses. Not to mention Marmalade deserved it to an extent due to his manipulations and betrayal of the Bad Guys.
- Even after his redemption, he never really sheds his cocky, smug and snarky attitude.
- While he is a carnivore, some of his lines heavily imply that he too preys on animals like Snake.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- His actions amount to theft and reckless driving at worst, and his threat to kill Professor Marmalade was understandable and might not even be true, making him bog-standard.
- He also relies on too much Fridge Horror as there's no indication that his reckless driving caused any deaths or endangered people at the very least, and while he and his friends are explicitly stated to be "feared criminals", their past crimes are not shown onscreen with the sole confirmed atrocity being theft, which is not only just one crime, but also a very generic (and harmless) offence at that.
- He fails the heinous standards to Professor Marmalade (another bog-standard villain), who mind-controlled several guinea pigs and framed the Bad Guys for stealing the meteorite.
- He has a tragic backstory, as he and his gang were never offered the chance to be anything more than a notorious criminal due to the world discriminating and fearing him for being a wolf. Even his bravado and cockiness are ways for him to hide his unhappiness with how society has treated him and he has always secretly wished he had the chance to be a good guy.
- He is constantly played for laughs, especially in the scenes where he breaks the fourth wall and playfully talks to the audience.
- Even as a villain, he was always affable and easy-going, even paying and tipping restaurants when, as a wanted criminal, he could have simply dined and dashed, showing that, even as a thief, he never stooped to hurting small businesses. Also, he never killed anyone or caused serious damage to the public.
- He genuinely cares for his best friend Mr. Snake, as he organizes a birthday party for him mid-heist and tries to get the cynical reptile to enjoy himself.
- Considering that he felt forced into a life of crime due to society fearing him, he is a villain by proxy.
- He felt genuine remorse for getting into a verbal argument with Mr. Snake, as he only snapped at him due to how stressed he was about being in prison with his friends.
- He redeems himself throughout the film, as he has an adorable scene where he adopts a kitten from a tree, saves the city from Professor Marmalade and saves the Bad Guys from falling to their deaths.
