Mr. Willard Tweedy is the secondary antagonist of DreamWorks' 4th full-length animated feature film Chicken Run, which is also Aardman's 1st feature film and Pathe's 1st animated feature film.
He is Mrs. Tweedy's abused ex-husband who helps her run the farm and is often sent to check on the chickens. While much more reasonable, Mr. Tweedy is almost as violent as his wife due to his desire to please her as much as possible.
He was voiced by the late Tony Haygarth.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He was imprisoning chickens alongside his wife Mrs. Tweedy despite knowing they were sapient even before her and repeatedly prevented them from escaping, in spite that they would get slaughtered if they didn't lay any more eggs.
- He repeatedly put Ginger in solitary confinement, though he decided to spare her friends from a similar fate. Furthermore, he decided to vengefully use the pie machine on Ginger when Mrs. Tweedy asked him for any chicken to ensure there were not any more escape attempts.
- He tried to foil the chickens' escape at the end, even though this is dooming them to be turned into chicken pies.
Why Doesn't he Stand Out?[]
- He currently fails the Heinous Standards to his more sadistic ex-wife, as well as Dr. Fry, with him mainly following the former's orders for all of his crimes, and the latter temporarily putting chickens in Fates Worse Than Death, leaving him unable to stand out despite having much lower resources than Dr. Fry.
- He can be considered a scapegoat, due to often getting abused by his wife, and also getting tricked by the chickens.
- He is constantly played for laughs, such as when he claims his love for apple pie and him thinking he fixed the pie machine.
- He is shown to be a nice guy to most people who are not chickens, helping Rocky's circus owner in trying to find him and thanking one of the workers who brought the pie machine to his farm for his services.
- He did his actions out of love and devotion for his wife rather than genuine malice, which makes him more a neutral character than evil.
- He shows love toward his late parents, fondly stating that his parents and their forefathers had been chicken farmers for generations and using this as a reason why he does not want to turn to making chicken pies.
Trivia[]
- He was originally considered Inconsistently Heinous, even initially being considered more heinous than his wife, until the sequel was released and his wife (and Dr. Fry) massively surpassed him in terms of heinousness.
