Monspeet, also known as Monspeet the Reticence, is a major antagonist in The Seven Deadly Sins anime/manga series. He is a member of the Demon Race’s Ten Commandments and lover of Derieri.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- He aided the Ten Commandments, a group of hegemonic demons.
- He and Derieri transformed into Indura's to kill the Four Archangels, even though this was somewhat justified as they attacked numerous innocent demons and had her cornered.
- Used a Hellfire Bird to try to track down Meliodas’s location.
- Took part in murdering Meliodas by permanently destroying both of his arms.
- Threatened to kill multiple defenseless Holy Knights in Liones alongside Derieri during the invasion.
- Attacked Meliodas, Elizabeth and Zaratras alongside Derieri and an army of Demons with homicidal intent.
- Took pleasure in mocking Estarossa about his mental instability, although admittedly he deserved it for trying to kill him and Derieri.
Why He Doesn’t Stand Out?[]
- He fails the Heinous Standard to other Ten Commandments. This includes Fraudrin who orchestrated the massacre on Danafor and framed it on the Sins as well as Melascula who tortured Meliodas and Ban while resurrecting many of her victims in an enraged zombified state, both with less resources.
- Is genuinely polite towards other Commandments and sometimes enemies, who he shows no sadism towards like other Demons.
- His actions are likely enforced by Zeldris and the Demon King.
- He is genuinely in love with Derieri and has the tragedy of being unable to confess his feelings for her due to his commandment.
- Him and Derieri develop a care towards humans after being taken in by a kind woman and saved by Meliodas. He also shows some remorse for his past actions and is willing to give up his commandment.
- His death is played with sympathy as he sacrifices himself to save Derieri from Estarossa.
