NOTE: This article is only about the version of Melvin Sneedly from the original books, as the movie version is Inconsistently Heinous and the TV series version is too bog-standard. Thus, only book Melvin Sneedly's info and crimes should be put here.

You guys are SO immature!
~ Melvin's catchphrase.

Melvin Richard Sneedly is the secondary antagonist of the Captain Underpants book series.

He is perhaps the smartest student currently attending Jerome Horwitz Elementary School, but is also the school's biggest tattletale/sellout and is greatly disliked by lots of the students for this reason. He is also George and Harold's arch-nemesis.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • Even before becoming a villain, he was already an egotistical jerk who is an tattletale of the school who tattles on George and Harold for their pranks, which always got them in trouble.
    • He even breaks George and Harold’s promise when he decides to tattle on George and Harold after the science convention is cancelled because of George and Harold's pranks, while it’s was somewhat justified, he was sadistically mocking George and Harold while telling them to have “fun” in detention, showing he never learned his lesson.
    • While he is forced to write "I will not be a tattletale" multiple times when George and Harold become Principals of the Day, he still tattles on them in later books.
  • When his newly-transformed bionic hamster Sulu refuses showcase his powers, Melvin threatens to abuse Sulu by spanking him with a ping-pong paddle, resulting in Sulu beating him up.
  • He plans to combine himself with a robot and become a bionic boy in order to become the most popular student at school and get his revenge on George and Harold for a comic they made about him and astound the female students, Ms. Ribble and Mr. Krupp.
    • As shown in his fantasy, this will allowed to get him fame and also making George and Harold his slaves for life.
  • After becoming the Binoic Bogger Boy, he destroys a tissue factory and goes on a rampage, destroying buildings, capturing Miss. Anthrope and sadistically eating Mr. Krupp before trying to do the same thing with George and Harold.
  • When he switch brains with Mr. Krupp and discovering Captain Underpants' real identity, he forces George and Harold to cooperate, threatening them with excessive homework. He also demands that they create a comic book about him, and specifically orders them to give him a cool name and not to make him look stupid.
  • He steals Captain Underpants’s powers and refused to save the people of Piqua unless George and Harold changed their comic about him.
  • Attampted to take credit for killing the Robo-Boogers to get fame and sadistically whipping Captain Underpants in order to make him bow down to him.
  • While getting chase by an angry mob is played for laughs, it doesn't make him a scapegoat and doesn’t exclude him for his actions, and is more karmic for want he did.
  • In the orignal timeline where George, Harold and Mr. Krupp were sent to prison, he mocked them when they were found guilty, as stated in the newspaper about their trial.
  • Him saving George, Harold and Captain Underpants by returning them to the present is pragmatic and he had no reason to save George and Harold. He even sadistically laughs before leaving, and leaves George, Harold and Captain Underpants to suffer form the Turbo Toilet 2000 like he did, just to make sure he is no longer being the hero.
    • While this may be because he is still mad at George, Harold and Captain Underpants for defeating him and leaving him to nearly get beaten up by an mob of angry people, that doesn't excuse him attempting to make the three suffer form the Turbo Toilet 2000. Plus, Melvin ultimately brought it onto himself due to the fact he steals Captain Underpants’s superpowers, refusing to saved the town form being killed by Robo-Boogers and trying to use the superpowers for fame.
  • While he rise to villainy because no one at school respected his genius, is too petty to excuse his actions against the town, as George and Harold called him out for being an petty, evil, selfish jerk for the past two books, showing it doesn't justify anything he did, and he also is willing to get back at people for not respecting his genius.
  • He is a hypocrite as he berated and sells out George and Harold constantly for breaking school rules yet Melvin has also broken school rules such as abusing his pet hamster in class.
  • He is so selfish and evil as after he was defeated and had his superpowers taken from him by George and Harold after the whole booger boy fiasco, Melvin throws a bratty temper tantrum.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • He fails the heinous standard to Turbo Toilet 2000, Slightly Younger Tiny Tippy Tinkletrousers, Dr. Diaper, Zorx, Klax & Jennifer and especially Evil George Beard and Evil Harold Hutchins, as they have done much worse.
  • He is too comedic to be NPE or PE, due to him belonging to the Captain Underpants books, a series of comedic graphic novels that rarely if ever take themselves seriously.
  • In book 11, he was more than willing to save people for a full year as a superhero, being perfectly willing to help people even if the emergencies were minor and not even caring when he room was severely damaged because a lady needed help, making him On & Off.
  • He has some standards, despite constantly soaking up the teacher, even he seemed less than pleased when it was announced in Book 5 that Mr. Krupp and Mrs. Ribble were getting married.
  • Despite his parents are shown to be too busy to spend time with him. Melvin does, however, still genuinely love them, making this a minor redeeming quality.
