Mayu's Mother is a minor antagonist in the Elfen Lied series.

In General[]
- Much like Her Husband unlike Lucy, Mariko or Kurama her actions wasn't fueled or motivated through some tragedy and just for lust.
- While she originally did care for her daughter she subverts this redeeming qualities the moment she her new husband and while he manipulated her to do it but seems more like under bad influence than tricked by Mayu's Stepfather since she allowed her daughter to live with Kouta's place.
- She remains unpunished for her actions making her an Karma Houdini.
Elfen Lied[]
- She allowed Mayu's Stepfather to abuse her own daughter and when she attempted to tell her, she gaslighted her by saying she is the problem giving her mental trauma.
- She showed zero care in her own daughter when she ran away and allowed Kouta to keep her at his place meaning she lost all remaining care to her by this point.
- While she allow Kouta to keep her own daughter at his place, this doesn't show she is honorable as she likely only allowed it so she have an excuse get rid of her own daugther.
Why She Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- While being aware of Her Husband of doing his actions on her daughter while gaslighting her that it she is the problematic one instead and impacting her mental health, she can't go any further since heinous standard of Elfen Lied is too high for her lower resources to not even matter especially when brutal murders are common in the work and she would technically fails the heinous standard to her own husband Mayu's Stepfather (Who himself fails the system standard to Director Kakuzawa and Unknown Man since his worst crime of rape is shared with them) anyways here.
- She seemly genuinely love her new husband since there is nothing suggests to say their marriage is pragmatic.
Trivia[]
- Some fans theorized her behavior and that it was her who murdered Mayu's original father, due to enraged at him for impregnating her with Mayu after they were married or abused him into leaving her. If this was confirmed it would make her worse.
- It’s speculated that Brando, who is a possible relative of Mayu’s original father, had killed them, hinting that she and her new husband had received their deserved karma for their cruelty towards Mayu. If confirmed to be true her death would be no longer be an Karma Houdini and she would get what she deserved.
