Claus, also known as The Masked Man, is one of secondary antagonists (alongside Fassad) of Mother 3. Once the rambunctious and lively twin brother of Lucas, he became brainwashed into becoming a top commander to Porky Minch, alongside Fassad.

His Villainous Deeds[]
- When Lucas and his company latch onto the Mothership, he presumably orders the pilot to turn the ship, causing them to fall off.
- He assisted Porky in stealing the Magypsies' Needles which keep the universe intact and preventing the Dark Dragon from destroying the world.
- He steals Lydia's Needle on Snowcap Mountain before flying away while leaving Lucas and his party to deal with the Steel Mechorilla.
- He stuns Lucas and his party with a quick lightning attack before stealing Missy's Needle on Tanetane Island.
- While he tries to break into Chupichupyoi Temple, he becomes impatient to a Clayman failing to break in, then explodes it himself.
- During their final battle, he shoots a flash at Lucas, Kumatora, Duster and Boney. The latter 3 are injured and unable to fight while Lucas is only spared thanks to wearing the Franklin Badge.
- He relentlessly attacks Lucas with a barrage of arm cannons, sword and PSI attacks.
- Use his PSI attack to injure his own father, Flint, when he was aiming for Lucas.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- He fails the Heinous Standard to Porky Minch himself. While it's true that Claus has lower resources than Porky, he only follows his orders against his will, so he still fails to Porky and by extension, Fassad, who willingly follows Porky.
- For the reasons mentioned above, he has severe moral agency issues and is a villain by proxy as he is unable to think or control his actions until the very end. It is even noted that he doesn't have an evil heart, but rather a completely neutral one.
- He is incredibly tragic as he was a once happy boy who was mutilated and all bit outright killed by a Mecha-Drago while trying to avenge his mother whom he watched get brutally murdered, only to be turned taken in by Porky and become his lifeless slave for years, only to become aware once it is too late.
- He redeems himself when his mother calls out to him and he remembers who he truly is then kills himself after realizing the damage he's done, having an extremely sympathetic death.
