Mary Landorott is the deuteragonist of the Japanese adult manga series Reincarnation Colosseum. She was once one of the most feared gladiators in the colosseum. As consequence for her years of torture and torment of innocents, she is now the pregnant slave of her new master; Mikagami Kouji.

Her Evil Ranking[]

Her Villainous Deeds[]

  • Being a member of the noble Landorott family, Mary, however, after failing to marry three times due to her age complex and failing to find a husband who was stronger than her, joined the Holy Four led by the Priestess Zayd, where she took out her frustration and anger on the participants of the Colosseum.
  • After the defeated men were transformed into women, Mary and the other members of the Holy Four (Alice Cotton, Fine Catastrophe, and Marl Baroque) subjected their slaves to brutal torture, abuse, and humiliation (the exception being Fine).
  • She, just like Marl, was very cruel to her slaves, subjecting them to constant abuse without reason, which she did to one of them, brutally beating the slave with a whip.
  • When she was ordered to deal with Mikagami, she was extremely excited about the idea that after she defeated/killed him, she would make him her favorite (turning him into a woman), probably subjecting him to horrible torture.
  • During her fight with Mikagami, she constantly taunted him about how worthless he was and how she would bully him, not caring that Mikagami was a completely ordinary human with no powers and no defense, and considering that when he insulted her for legitimate reasons, seeing what a sadistic psychopath she was, she was furious and tried everything she could to kill him, making her a hypocrite.
  • She mentioned how she burned one of her victims, showing sadistic excitement, while Mikagami was disgusted by it.
    • Was also shown to have burned three other men by her hands.
  • When she lost to Mikagami, she begged for mercy in a pathetic and cowardly manner, going as far as to humiliate herself in front of everyone just so Mikagami would spare her, which shows what a coward she is as she is capable of threatening and bullying those weaker than her.
  • While her three-day rape at the hands of Mikagami, loss of dignity, and eternal shame as a slave are pretty horrific, she nonetheless deserved such a fate considering what a disgusting sadist, psychopath, and woman she was in general before her faux redemption.
  • She later, now Mikagami's slave, helped him rape Marle, Alice, and Fine, performing the same three-day rape on them.
    • While Alice and Marl deserved this punishment, given that Alice was a terrible misandrist and her pettiness and Marl for being a sadist brute who also mistreat her slaves breaking their bones for sick fun; Fine not so much. In her situation, she was previously a boy who was blackmailed by her Aunt Zayd to become a woman and do her dirty deeds, because otherwise she would tell her parents about his passion for magic, to which Mary showed no sympathy or at least did not try to argue with Mikagami raping Fine, and instead did what she wanted. This makes Fine a scapegoat for receiving a overly harsh punishment (that becomes worse by the fact that, different of Mary and Marl, she was never seen mistreating slaves or wanting to rape someone), made even worse by Mary.
      • While Marl is not a scapegoat, in her case she tried to get revenge on Mikagami for humiliating Mary, but ended up losing in a not entirely fair way, thanks to a love potion that Mikagami spat into her mouth, and then even despite their friendship, Mary still helped Mikagami do the same thing that Mikagami did to her, even though Marl begged her to help her, lefting her betrayed by the one who her seemed as a friend.
        • She also temporarily brainwashed all three of them so that they would be more easily susceptible to Mikagami's power.
      • Given Alice's outward attributes, even though she is eighteen years old, Mary has effectively committed pedophilia.
  • After she defeated Mikagami, defeated Suzu, and killed Musashi Sasaki (though her murder was nullified by his resurrection), she also did everything she did to Marl, Alice, and Fine, and then began to closely monitor Suzu to ensure that she had no way to escape from them to her lover Sasaki, making Suzu a scapegoat as well (although this later somewhat eroded, as they eventually became friendly with each other).
  • Although she is insecure because of her age and her inability to find a husband, this is never exploited to generate sympathy before her mind is broken, with her taking out her anger in a petty way on people who have nothing to do with the situation, with the selfish mentality that if she can't be happy, nobody can.
  • Although she appears to have a genuine friendship with Marl, only Marl's side of the story is shown, and it is not shown whether Mary, in her right mind, truly considered her a friend or if she only got along with her out of mutual sadism.
  • Despite being subjected to many comical moments after her defeat, they all occur only because she is no longer in a position of threat, and she is taken extremely seriously as a villain.
  • Although she later showed remorse for her crimes, seeking redemption, this is not a true redemption, as her brain was severely affected by Mikagami's rape, giving her moral agency issues. Therefore, Mary is not choosing to be good in her right mind, which does not grant her genuine redemption.
    • Even though she had fallen in love with Mikagami, it only happened because he had broken her mind.
  • Although the manga is quite an exploitative work, it still has a plot, a confrontation with evil, a main goal, and even moral dilemmas, so the manga it comes from cannot be considered completely exploitative or shock value.

Why Doesn't She Stand Out?[]

  • While she passes the baseline of being the first serious enemy Mikagami meets and the subsequent development of their relationship, her pettiness and responsibility for one direct and two indirect scapegoatings of Suzu, Fine, and Marl, along with her other crimes such as brutal slave abuse, rape, and pedophilia, still fails to meet the manga's lofty heinous standards for the following reasons:
    • She shares too many of her crimes with the other members of the Holy Four, such as: slavery, serial torture, sex crimes, abuse, pedophilia, and rape. That is, she committed all of these crimes together with them, which makes them too common.
    • She fails the heinous standards to:
      • Mikagami Kouji, who had no resources at the start, gradually became much worse and committed even more atrocious acts (including unique crimes such as drug use, amputation, and/or psychological torture) than Mary, and in terms of abilities, he only had a weak ability to copy the techniques of others, while she, with more resources, did relatively less, especially considering that she shares many of her crimes with others.
      • Alice Cotton, who performed an illegal sex change on her own, had the intent to commit genocide against men by turning them into women (estimated victim count of 3-4 billion; also unique to manga) and is somewhat of a personal enemy to Mikagami due to her misandry, while having same resources to Mary.
      • Fine Catastrophe, which committed mass murder, mass torture, and illegally used a huge amount of stolen skills, while having almost zero resources from the very beginning.

Trivia[]

  • She, Suzu, Musashi Sasaki, Fine Catastrophe, Marl Baroque, Zulu and Desmos Salamandis are the only characters from Reincarnation Colosseum who can count the Villainous Benchmark.
