Dr. Curtis "Curt" Connors, better known as The Lizard (or simply Lizard) main antagonist of What if...? Dark: Venom. In the event Secret Wars set in an Alternate where Spider-Man bonds with the Venom Symbiote, he rejected it and gave it to Fantastic Four's headquarters until the Lizards used the Symbiote for fear of it.

- Unlike his main counterpart, this version of Lizard has full control over his alter ego.
- He finds Ben, who has bonded with a Venom symbiote, and seeks to use it for himself to gain Ben's trust.
- He extracts the Venom symbiote from Ben, now using it not only to instill fear but also to kill Mr. Fantastic.
- After bonding with the Venom symbiote, he becomes homicidal on the Fantastic Four base, killing Sue Storm before turning his sights on Reed.
- Before killing Reed, he mocks him, stating that he is better than him and taunting him with the assurance that he will enjoy this moment.
- Thing arrives just in time to confront the Lizard, but it’s too late; the Lizard has already bitten Mr. Fantastic's head off in front of Ben.
- He thanks Ben for the best thing that happened to him, claiming that Ben was "selfish" for keeping the symbiote. He then expresses his desire to join forces with him.
- His actions have the Venom symbiote corrupting Ben, with the symbiote's influence now fully taking control.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- He fails the heinous standards too much, such as Loki uses his brother Thor's Hammer to control every powerful villain in the universe and is indirectly responsible for Surtur's existence in the universe.
- While his death is not sympathetic, he becomes a scapegoat. Although he was responsible for killing Sue and Reed, his demise is brutal, with his head being crushed, highlighting the worst aspects of Connor's lack of control over his alter ego, Lizard.
