~ Ultimate Kevin to Ben. |
Kevin Ethan Levin, better known as Kevin 11, is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Max Tennyson) of Cartoon Network's Ben 10 franchise.
Originally introduced as an antagonist in the Classic series, he has the ability to absorb energy, which he used to steal and replicate Ben Tennyson's Omnitrix powers. However, this caused him to mutate into a monstrous form known as "Kevin 11," where he becomes a fusion of Ben’s alien transformations.
In later series like Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, Kevin becomes more of an anti-hero and eventually a close ally to Ben and Gwen. His abilities evolve to absorbing materials (like metal or rock) instead of just energy, and he develops a romantic relationship with Gwen Tennyson.
He was voiced by Michael Reisz in the episode Kevin 11, Charlie Schlatter for rest of the Classic Series and by Greg Cipes in Alien Force, Ultimate Alien and Omniverse.
In the live-action film Alien Swarm, he was portrayed by Nathan Keyes.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
In General[]
- He is very greedy, obsessed with money, and still takes weapons from defeated enemies to sell to the highest bidder.
- He can be violent and ruthless, enjoying brutal fights with villains. When he lost control as Ultimate Humungousaur, he smashed Ben through several buildings with a car and admitted he liked it a little.
- Prior to redeeming himself he used to have a deep and irrational hatred for Ben, due to foiling his plans and turning against him after seeing his true nature, mocking and berating him multiple times, going out of his way to kill him multiple times, out of sadism and revenge.
Classic[]
- After he met Ben he used his powers in order to malfunction an arcade machine, in order to illegally take its coins.
- He along with Ben entered in a warehouse and tried to steal a copy of a new Sumo Slammers game, which resulted in a S.W.A.T team chasing them although they managed to escape.
- He tried to crash two trains to steal money, not caring about the lives lost. When Ben warned him about the deaths, he just said, "So what? No pain, no gain."
- He absorbed Heatblast's fire powers while fighting Ben and burned down a house belonging to three bullies, attempting to murder them for revenge.
- He fought Ben at the gangster hideout and rejected Ben's offer to change instead trying to steal the Omnitrix to gain more power.
- After gaining the ability to transform into Ben's aliens, he rampaged across multiple cities, framing Ben for his crimes.
- As Four Arms, he caused destruction and attacked the police, he even attacked Gwen who was a 10 year-old child.
- As Heatblast, he tried to attack some guards and shot fire at Gwen, which could have burned her alive.
- As Upgrade, he hijacked a trolley full of people and tried to crash it into the water, attempting mass murder.
- As Diamondhead, he almost collapsed a bridge with many people, which would have caused mass destruction and deaths.
- He badly beated up Lieutenant Steel, leaving his face bruised and swollen, and nearly killed him with crystal spikes before Ben stopped him. After that he just throws him aside, not caring that he could have fallen to his death, although he survived.
- After Ben spares him for not being worth to be killed, he (out of rage and hatred for Ben) loses control and turns into a combination of the original aliens from the Omnitrix and attacks Ben until he was stopped by Lt. Steel firing a rocket at him.
- He attacked Ben and his family and fought him until Slix Vigma kidnapped them.
- When Slix Vigma kidnapped him and Ben on the Megacruiser in order to use them as fighters for the gladiator games, he immediately blamed Ben for it, even though there was no evidence that he did it.
- At lunch when Technorg appeared he used his powers to put food in his face and lied to him that it was Ben who did it, which causes Technorg to attack Ben and try to murder him. When Ben turned into Four Arms to defend himself, Slix Vigma impressed by Ben’s transformations sends him and Kevin in the arena to fight Technorg indirectly endangering them.
- After he defeats Technorg with Ben’s help to combine his powers he tried to kill him upon being ordered by Slix Vigma, taking sadistic pleasure in it and only being stopped when Ben used the chains (both him and Ben were tied with chains forcing them to work together) to restrain him. After that he tries to kill Ben again only to be stopped by Slix Vigma.
- His team-up with Ben and the other aliens was only to save himself, not out of heroism.
- While he kills Slix Vigma when he tries to kill Ben by impaling him with his Diamondhead arm it was not out of honor or respect for Ben but because he wanted to kill Ben himself.
- He came very close to murdering Ben (He used Stinkfly's slime spit to stick him on a wall and tried to impale him in the face) until he managed to turn into Cannonbolt and defeated him.
- He tried to forcibly open the door where Ben was in order to escape, to presumably try to murder him there but Technorg pulled him out from there and started to fight him. He managed to defeat Technorg but Technorg escaped alive from the Megacruiser.
- He saved Vilgax and teamed up with him to get revenge on Ben. He also claimed to have defeated many across the galaxy, likely harming innocent people.
- He along with Vilgax attacked Ben, Gwen and Max which sent Gwen and Max falling down although Ben managed to save them.
- He along with Vilgax chased Ben in the Null Void after being sent there to catch him and take the Omnitrix.
- He held Gwen hostage and used her in order to gain the Omnitrix.
- He took the Omnitrix from Ben using a Omnitrix Containment Device, which was shown to be a very painful process for Ben.
- After he gained the Omnitrix, he planned to betray Vilgax by trapping him in the Null Void along with Ben and Gwen, while using the Omnitrix to take over the world, but it backfired thanks to Vilgax attacking him and eventually resulted in both of them remaining trapped there.
Alien Force[]
- In the series premiere, Kevin attempted to organize a deal between two organizations, the Forever Knights and the DNAliens, in order to sell them illegal Level 5 weapons which are very dangerous to humans.
- He stole the Rustbucket and tried to trade it to Vulkanus for a message Max left for Ben, only for Agit to double-cross Kevin by stealing the RV himself. While he had good intentions, that was still a reckless decision since he violated the trust Ben and Gwen just started to have for him and didn't even tell them about the message in the first place.
Ultimate Alien[]
- After absorbing the Ultimatrix and becoming Ultimate Kevin, he briefly considered taking the power of an unborn Celestapien (after he just stopped Aggregor from doing the same thing) before being talked out of it by a past version of Ben.
- He tried to kill a guy named Barry and hospitalized him in the process just for owing him eight dollars.
- He goes back to the Null Void to take revenge on the warden, Morgg, nearly killing him.
- He tried to kill both Ben and Gwen on the Rust Bucket for protecting Argit.
- He tries to kill Argit in revenge for the former tricking him.
- He attacked a Plumber's Academy and the many Plumbers students there.
- He becomes hungry for power and attacks and tries to kill numerous people, including his friends, for their powers.
- He attacks Alan, absorbs his powers and then tries to kill him. When Ben saves Alan, during their fight, he tries to kill Alan again while down, forcing Ben to protect him.
- He brutally beat Helen, Pierce and Manny even worse than Alan.
- He attacked Dr. Viktor and banished him to the Null Void.
- He also tried to absorb Gwen's magic and kill her despite his love for her, making him such a dangerous threat that Ben initially wanted to kill him despite their friendship.
- When Ben tried subduing him using Echo Echo, Kevin brutally murdered all of them, including burning, freezing, and electrocuting them to death. He also sadistic murders the last remaining Echo Echo by blasting him to death with his laser vision.
- He tried to kill Cooper for trying to protect Gwen.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- Although he passes the baseline due to attempting to kill many people and personal villainy towards Ben, he fails the massively high heinous standards of the franchise to Vilgax, Maltruant, and Eon, all of whom attempted to commit genocide on a multiversal scale.
- He also fails to stand out compared to Aggregor who committed significantly worse acts with similar resources.
- Additionally, most of his worst acts, like terrorizing cities with Ben's aliens and his rampage as Ultimate Kevin, rely on Fridge Horror.
- He also fails to stand out compared to Aggregor who committed significantly worse acts with similar resources.
- He is extremely tragic and sympathetic for Near Pure Evil:
- He was born with Osmosian abilities that allow him to absorb energy and matter, but he struggled to control them. When he first absorbed the Omnitrix’s power, it backfired, mutating him into a monstrous form. This made him feel like a freak and fueled his anger, making him lash out. He didn't just want power, he wanted to be normal again.
- He had a rough childhood, with hints that he was abandoned or had an abusive past, and Kevin’s bitteress toward the world only grew. Without proper guidance or support, he turned to crime to survive.
- After the events of the Classic series, Kevin was banished to the Null Void, a brutal prison dimension for the most dangerous criminals. To survive, he had to constantly fight off other inmates and monstrous creatures, spending years in isolation, which only deepened his anger, paranoia, and distrust. During his time there, he met Kwarrel, an alien prisoner who became a mentor to him. Kwarrel taught Kevin how to control his alien transformations, helping him regain his human form, and encouraged him to use his powers for good rather than selfish gain. He was one of the first to believe Kevin could be more than just a villain. Sadly, Kwarrel sacrificed his life to help Kevin escape.
- Once he escaped the Incarcecon prison, Kevin was recruited by The Rooters, a secret group within the Plumbers led by Proctor Servantis. They experimented on young kids, including Kevin, and brainwashed them to serve their agenda, including altering Kevin’s memories, making him forget key parts of his life, conditioning him into believing he was a dangerous weapon who should be used against Ben, and manipulating him into absorbing energy against his will, causing his past mutations and unstable transformations. After the project was deemed a failure, Servantis wiped Kevin and his fellow Rooters' memories and abandoned them on Earth with nowhere to go.
- He cares deeply about multiple people:
- Kwarrel was one of the few people who genuinely cared about Kevin’s well-being, and his death had a deep impact on Kevin.
- He's deeply in love with Gwen and is incredibly protective of her as she was one of the first people to believe in his ability to change, which meant a lot to him.
- Though Kevin and Ben started as enemies, they eventually became close friends and allies. He respects Ben and, despite their constant bickering, would always have his back, including saving Ben's life numerous times.
- He wanted to provide for his mother, which partly fueled his obsession with making money.
- Though he can act occasionally cold toward them, he considers both Grandpa Max and Rook to be part of his extended family and holds a great amount of respect for them.
- Despite committing many morally-dubious acts, especially as Ultimate Kevin, he largely redeemed himself and became an honorable member of the Plumbers. He helped Ben and the team stop the Highbreed from destroying Earth, and although it caused a lot of collateral damage, he sacrificed his sanity by absorbing the Ultimatrix to stop Aggregor, saving the entire universe.
