Kenny is the tritagonist of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead video game series.

While he is known for taking action and showing initiative, his short temper and failure to think things through often get the better of him. However, Kenny is also shown to be kind and selfless as he has been willing to give his life to save someone else's, but can be emotionally unstable towards those who do him wrong, yet he is aware of this and has admitted to be frightened by it. Often regarded as reckless Kenny often initiates things too quickly out of anger or uncertainty which is usually detrimental to other people's health.

He was voiced by Gavin Hammon.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • While Shawn and Duck were attacked by walkers, Kenny only went after Duck and left Shawn despite being in severe need of help and runs away holding Duck. It's viewed as pretty cowardly letting Shawn take the walkers bait instead of helping Lee out afterwards pulling him under the truck. Duck was already safe and sound.
  • He planned to take over the St. Johns’ place knowing they lived on farmland and in a big house. While they were revealed as cannibals, it was still a rather a petty choice.
  • In the meat locker, when Larry has a heart attack and passed out, he assumes that he is dead and that he is going to turn. With Lilly trying to revive her dad, he also suggests that he kills him before he reanimates. Regardless of who Lee sides with, Kenny smashes Larry’s head with a salt lick, traumatizing both Lilly and Clementine. While he was only try to help the group and felt remorse, combined with Larry’s hostility towards the the group, it was a very immoral choice and partly responsible for Lilly’s paranoid behavior later on.
    • This act is also hypocritical, as he did not have “the balls to do the hard thing” towards his son, Duck. But it’s understandable as Duck is his son.
  • If the player chooses to help revive Larry, later on he will antagonize Lee and will refuse to save him when he gets attack by Danny St. John, though Lilly saves Lee, and he will do it for a second time in episode 3 when walkers attack Lee showing how petty he can be when things don’t go his way.
  • He takes the Stranger’s supplies and not worrying who it belongs to. Although the group was running low on supplies, this act caused the Stranger’s wife and daughter to die, and for him to stalk and kidnap Clem.
  • He was willing to let Beatrice get eaten by walkers, just so that he can get more supplies for the group.
  • When Ben admits his faults in Katjaa's and Duck's deaths saying he worked with the bandits Kenny only thought about jumping at Ben in an attempt to assault him but it was interfered by Lee & Verner.
  • During the train ride, when Lee confronts him about Duck about to turn, Kenny breaks into a state of denial and furiously insults (and determinedly beats up) Lee.
  • After Ben reveals to have indirectly caused Katjaa and Duck’s deaths through his dealings with the bandits, and if Lee saves Ben from the bell tower, Kenny will tell Ben that Lee should have left him.
  • Was initially distrusting towards Luke & Nick and their group despite having no apparent reason for doing so and even confronting them on the spot at the lodge with guns. Over time they become reluctantly cordial with one another but Kenny's first impression was more judgmental, aggressive & skeptical than it was friendly, warm or welcoming. He made few attempts to try to bond with them other than some outdated & inappropriate jokes, odd & weird comparisons and then being angry with them for not immediately accepting his plan to go to Wellington which relates to his fierce stubbornness. Regardless it felt like both of the groups still had beef and animosity after dinner because Kenny was lacking social skills, general decency and manners. It was not a courteous meal or invitation.
  • Shot Johnny a member of Carver's group and initiated a gunfight to start between him and Carver which only made things worse for new arrivals and their groups. Walter gets instantly killed for it.
  • Was the least cooperative member of Carver's community and that led to some bad things to start to happen including for himself.
  • Very verbally abusive, dimwitted, abrasive & overly confrontational to a lot of people for example Luke, Lee, Carlos, Nick, Jane, Larry, Lilly, Rebecca, Arvo, Ben and even his own girlfriend Sarita. Most of those encounters are out of his own pure insecurities & unwillingness to adapt to certain situations. For example Tripp from season 3 has a similar personality & general brute strength to Kenny but he's more forgiving and more willing to let things go when they need to simply to keep a good healthy morale within the group while Kenny is very harsh, mean-tempered, vengeful and often controlling regarding any outcomes that comes in his way.
  • Depending on what Clementine says, if he does not follow what Carver says, it will lead Carver killing Alvin.
  • He brutally mutilates, tortures & kills Carver, in front of Rebecca (and Clementine if she stays behind). Though Carver’s death is well-earned, this also demonstrates his mentally unstable behavior.
  • Even though he is very protective of Clementine, he comes across as increasingly more violent and aggressive towards her and the group following the deaths of his loved ones around him.
  • He abuses Arvo throughout, such as taking him hostage, beating him up in front of the gang and racially antagonizing him, such as calling him a “ruskie” and a “commie."
  • During a fight with Jane, if Clementine chooses to not shoot Kenny, he will brutally murder her. If Clem does shoot Kenny and goes with Jane, it was revealed in a flashback of season 3 when Clementine was still with her age of season 2, that Jane was pregnant, which means if Kenny was alive it heavily implies that he had killed Jane’s unborn baby.
  • While not as heinous as other villains such as William Carver, Joan and Badger, they had significantly more resources and an army of full of more people than Kenny did and he stands out for the impact he left on Clementine and his group.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • Even though he has less resources than most villains, he fails the heinous standards to the St. Johns, who cannibalized numerous people. This is especially prominent given his large screen time, as he had the potential to do worse but refrained from doing so.
  • He is overall an anti-villain, because of the noble and sympathetic goals he has, such as killing Larry with a salt lick just so that he and his group can be safe, and the reason why he mistreats Arvo is because he didn’t want him hurting anyone, especially when he shot Clementine later on.
  • He is very tragic, as he had to witness all of his loved ones die, with those being his wife and son, his new girlfriend Sarita, and all of the original members of the ski lodge. While this does not excuse most of his actions, it is still played for heavy sympathy.
  • He genuinely cares about people, such as his family, Clementine, and AJ. He also cares about Lee regardless of the differences they had, he still missed him with a passion.
  • At the end of Season 2, he determinedly redeems himself by ensuring Clementine and AJ’s safety in Wellington or sacrificing himself to save them from a walker herd in two of the endings. If Clementine shoots him, he expresses immense remorse for his actions and tells her she did the right thing.
