Kazushi Niida is a minor antagonist in the manga Battle Royale. He was a student of Class 9-B, who bully Yoshio Akamatsu and had an obsession with Takako Chigusa, and would become a heartless killer when he was kidnapped and forced to play in the Battle Royale program.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • Even before the program, he was already a horrible person, as he bullied Yoshio Akamatsu and even beat him on several occasions.
  • In his first scene in the manga, he killed Akamatsu and arrogantly proclaimed that he could kill anyone he wanted now with the program and all women would be his.
  • He attempted to rape Takako Chigusa by threatening to shoot her with his crossbow, and when she refused, he decided to catch her when she tried to run away from him and shoot her in the leg.
  • When Chigusa refused to have sex with him and told him that she would never be his, Niida beat her to a pulp and force her into saying that she wanted to have sex with him.
  • When Chigusa defended herself and broke his testicles, Niida tried to kill her.
  • He's the reason why the group of the lighthouse chose to only allow girls in their group out of fear that they may get raped by other boys, since they saw Niida getting angry for not being able to rape Mayumi Tendo since she was killed by Akamatsu.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • While his crimes pass the general baseline, he fails the heinous standards to Mitsuko Souma, Kazuo Kiriyama, and Shogo Kawada.
  • He is posthumously played for sympathy, as Niida can be seen as one of the people when Shuya says that all the students that are dead are helping him fight Kazuo, and later says that all the students deserved better, even the worst ones, which applies to Niida as well.
