Get out of here... You gonna make me repeat myself?, leave my sight. You know why. The way you cry like a baby all day long. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?.. Good for nothing, any effort spent on you is an absolute waste of time. Our teacher is an extraordinary man. [..] Hey you, don't go being all familiar and calling him gramps! He's a former Hashira, someone who earned the highest tile in the Demon Slayer Corps. Hardly anyone ever gets the chance to be trained by a former Hashira. The time he spends training you is all for nothing its infuriating to see! I hate even looking at you so get out! Why are you even here? Why do you insist on clinging on like a patch of mold?!
~ Kaigaku berating Zenitsu in the past.
Of course I know what right and wrong is! Those who appreciate my talent is the right, those who don't and denounce me is the wrong!
~ Kaigaku revealing his values.

Kaigaku Inadama (In Japanese: 稲玉獪岳, Inadama Kaigaku) is a minor antagonist in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga and anime.

He was a member of the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Upper Rank Six after the deaths of Daki and Gyutaro. He betrayed the Demon Slayer Corps because he wanted to live in his encounter with Kokushibo. Before joining the Twelve Kizuki, he is a former member of the Demon Slayer Corps, a senior to Zenitsu Agatsuma, and a disciple of Jigoro Kuwajima.

He is voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya in the Japanese version of the anime and by Alejandro Saab in the English version.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • Unlike other demons, who turned evil due to Muzan transforming them into demons, Kaigaku was already a terrible individual before becoming a demon.
  • He was an orphan, and when Gyomei Himejima was a monk, he lived under him like a family with other orphans, but he stole money from the temple because he had kleptomania.
  • While he went through an awful childhood, Zenitsu himself experienced the same childhood but he did not turn out evil.
  • The night he was banished from the temple's children for stealing the temple's money, he extinguished the incense of wisteria near the temple with the Demon, fully aware that doing so would place everyone inside in danger.
  • As a result, the demon proceeded to kill almost all of the orphans that were Gyomei's family. Also, because of this, Gyomei was misunderstood as a child killer after Saya unintentionally pointed a finger at him and was sent to prison, narrowly avoiding execution. This caused Gyomei to distrust children.
  • Immediately after he was accepted as a disciple of Jigoro Kuwajima, he bullied Zenitsu believing that he was nothing but a coward who won his master's favor through dumb luck, while that description can very much apply to Kaigaku himself.
  • Later, in the Infinity Castle Arc, he appeared before Zenitsu as a demon, he surrendered to Kokushibo in order to survive and became a demon by taking blood, which caused his mentor, Jigoro Kuwajima, to commit suicide out of shame.
  • He provoked Zenitsu's anger by mocking Jigoro's death in front of him, showing that Kaigaku held no remorse for causing the death of his master.
  • He was beheaded by Zenitsu, who created a new form called Seventh Form: Honoikazuchi no Kami, but he still had no regrets about his evil deeds, and he still denies that Zenitsu has overtaken him, and he died miserably.
  • He is the only human with a rotten personality among the Demon Slayer Corps with many good people (even Kokushibo, who betrayed the Demon Slayer Corps, felt conflicted about it), and he has the arrogance that makes him special, the ideology of choice, and the side of being humble when he meets someone clearly stronger than him. And this personality defect and orphanage, believing that the unfortunate circumstances were his own personality, refused to fix it, and in the end met a miserable end as a result of that flaw.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • Although it is true that he is an utterly detestable villain, he massively fails both the in-story standard and even the baseline. Rui, Enmu and even the Hand Demon killed more people than him with fewer resources as Kaigaku has numerous resources at his disposal yet he is only responsible for 8 deaths, which is too low for him to pass Demon Slayer's very high heinous standard.
