Boys who keep secrets, don’t get custard for dessert
~ Joan telling Corey he’s not getting dessert for lying to her.
Ronald? Ronald? I have laundry. I can put it in your dresser or I can leave it in this basket here.
~ Joan mistaking Corey for Ronald unaware he’s going to murder her and her last words.
What the hell are you doing, Who’s that calling you under the dinner table, Who’s that person you’re texting?
~ Joan wanting to know who Corey is texting, While he is texting Allyson Nelson.

Joanne “Joan” Cunningham is a major antagonist in the horror movie Halloween Ends. She is the overbearing protective mother of Corey Cunningham, wife of Ronald Prevo and the ex-wife of Corey’s biological father Walter. She doesn’t like that Corey is around Allyson and believes that all Corey needs is mother.

She was portrayed by Joanne Baron.

Her Evil Ranking[]

Her Villainous Deeds[]

  • In the Novelization of the film it’s revealed she let one of her younger siblings die by letting it topple itself over cracking its head open because it was getting the parents attention.
  • It is also revealed she divorced Corey’s biological father Walter because she wanted Corey all to herself.
  • It's also revealed that she would cling to him so tightly and obsessively that she won’t let him date girls, she wouldn’t let anyone near him saying he doesn’t need doctor’s if he hurt his hand he doesn’t need medicine he only needs mother. Until he turned 13 she would sit over top of him and watch him sleep.
  • When he brought a girl over one time she embarrassed Corey and sat in the room with them. Once she left she ridiculed Corey for bringing home such a “Nasty Girl”.
  • She messed with a thermometer to make Corey think he was sick to keep him home from school.
  • She tried to get Corey to tell her he was texting despite him telling her it’s nobody.
  • When Corey came home after murdering Nelson Christopher in self defense she yells at him, demanding to know where he had been and for him to open the bathroom door. She also tells him that Allyson is no good for him.
  • She blames Laurie for Michael’s disappearance and for the town turning against Corey after the accident with Jeremy Allen in 2019.
  • When Corey tells her and Ronald he’s leaving Haddonfield with Allyson she tells him to leave before slapping him, once realizing what she did she kisses him on the lips leaving the room once Corey pulls away.
  • She tells Ronald to go out and find Corey saying he with that “disgusting tramp”, Ronald doesn’t go searching for Corey finally happy that Corey found love.

Why She Doesn’t Stand Out?[]

  • While her crimes of incest and pedophilia do pass the general baseline, she still fails the high heinous standards of the series to Michael Myers.
  • She seemed like a mother who genuinely loved her son and wanted to protect him but just not in the right way.
  • In the novelization instead of Corey killing her Michael does and her final words are “Please don’t hurt my boy” showing she genuinely cared for Corey and didn’t want her child to die.
  • She genuinely was worried when Corey came back declaring she had been worried sick and was almost going to call a missing person report.
