I'm sorry this is how they have to learn the truth. But nothing built can last forever, Gabriel.
~ Ivor to Gabriel the Warrior before spawning the Wither Storm.

Ivor is a major character in the Minecraft: Story Mode series, serving as the secondary antagonist of Season 1 and a supporting protagonist in Season 2. In Season 1, he is the central antagonist of Episodes 1 and 2, a minor antagonist in Episode 3, a supporting character in Episode 4, and a major protagonist for the rest of the season.

He is a disgruntled former member of the Order of the Stone who quit due to their lies. In retaliation, Ivor spawned a Wither Storm to prove that the Order is not what they claim to be (though there were better ways to do so). After redeeming himself, he becomes a good mentor to Jesse.

He is voiced by the late Paul Reubens.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • Even though he was rightfully mad at his group for lying to everyone and leaving the order for rightful reasons, he still agreed to keep quiet to keep their treasures.
  • He manipulated Petra into giving him a wither skull so he could unleash the Wither Storm.
  • He summoned an Iron Golem to attack Jesse and his friends when they tried to stop his plan. Which caused Lukas to hide in a chest.
  • He unleashed the Wither Storm in front of everyone at EnderCon, which seriously endangered everyone.
    • Even if it wasn’t his intention to go on an incredibly destructive rampage, this also makes Ivor indirectly responsible for the deaths of Magnus/Ellegaard and Reuben, so he has some personal villainy towards Jesse in a way.
  • After the Wither Storm is summoned, he ordered it to attack Gabriel, despite numerous bystanders in the vicinity.
  • He mocks Gabriel for not being tough enough to face the Wither Storm.
  • Even though he does want to teach his friends a lesson for lying, there were arguably better ways to expose them as frauds.
  • He blames Jesse and his friends for "ruining everything" despite the fact that it was mostly his fault since he created the Wither Storm and endangered everyone.
  • He attacks Jesse and Gabriel/Petra when they tried to "interfere" with his plans again and stop him.
  • Even after redeeming himself, Ivor is still capable of doing questionable things:
    • He built a house with lots of lava pouring out of it and even when Petra, Axel and several townspeople told him that his house was a safety hazard, Ivor didn’t care, leaving Jesse to decide whether to let the house stay or tear it down.
    • Under Romeo’s orders, he tried to kill Jesse before revealing himself and reuniting with him/her and Petra.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out[]

  • While summoning the Wither Storm in a crowd of innocent people is enough to pass the baseline, he didn't know that it would become an omnicidal monstrosity, which is confirmed when he tells Soren that he didn’t know the Wither Storm would split into three different parts that are out to get the world. He even tried to stop the Wither Storm as soon as Gabriel was down by telling it to retreat. This lessens how heinous the action is.
    • Not to mention, all he wanted to do with the Wither Storm was expose the Order of The Stone as frauds. He even went out of his way to ensure it wouldn't backfire by creating a potion that would have been able to kill it had it not been stolen by Jesse/Axel.
  • The Wither Storm, PAMA, and Romeo are unfair comparisons, but Ivor still heavily fails the Heinous Standards compared to Aiden, the White Pumpkin, Hadrian, Mevia and the Warden, who all do way worse than him with less resources and screentime.
  • Him trying to steal the Eversource is reliant on Fridge Horror as nothing indicates that the people of Sky City would suffer or die without the Eversource (because it was just a chicken that laid spawn eggs, so it’s highly unlikely that the citizens of Sky City would get killed without it), and all we know is that Lukas was complaining about how the Eversource belongs to the Founder, not Ivor.
  • He is a villain by proxy since he was driven to villainy by Soren's fraud.
  • Even as a villain, he did had some genuine intentions (even if they were selfish) as he wanted his friends to reveal the truth about the order and even gave Jesse and his friends a way out of the Nether.
  • After Jesse shows him the amulet, Ivor finally shows some remorse for his actions and decides to help him and his friends defeat his creation by taking them to his lab, despite having virtually no reason to do so as the stealing of his potion (which was done by Jesse/Axel) was the only reason his plan backfired.
  • By the end of episode 4, Ivor does redeem himself and becomes a good mentor to Jesse and his friends throughout the rest of the series.
