~ A sign left by Israphel at the Yogcave. |
“ | I was only four years old, and all I can remember is rain, lightning, and a terrible, pale face. He took our mother from us that night, into whatever dark place he inhabits, and then soon after, our father left us too. Adaphon raised us well, but I was forever haunted by that pale face, and vowed to find out what had happened to my parents. | „ |

His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
In general[]
- Although the series is primarily a comedy-based adventure fantasy, Israphel is by-far the darkest villain in the series, having zero comedic moments and being taken seriously 100% of the time, even when Xephos and Honeydew are being silly.
- Despite having some mitigating factors, he does still possess a personality, being cruel, manipulative and calculating.
Background[]
- He is partially indirectly responsible for the Sand War, having time-travelled from the present day using the Hellgates some time after he was resurrected and went to the past to help his master, modifying the Sands and making them into a source of corruption, causing people to die from hunger, thirst, rapid aging anad turning them into sandstone.
- He kidnapped Old Peculier's mother many years prior to the series, presumably via the use of time travel.
- At some point, he infected Peculier with his taint, causing Peculier to have nightmares for many years. rapily age, cause intense stress and possibly even allowing Israphel to control him at some points.
- He kidnapped most of Terrorvale's residents, causing Peculier's nightmares and paranoia to resurface.
- It's implied that he killed Peculier's father, Karpath, after he went through the Hellgate to destroy the evil.
- He caused Templar Enoch to insane due to the Sands' influence and terrorizing him in his nightmares, culminating in Enoch killing his colleagues and gutting himself. He travelled back in time and did this for no reason other than pure sadism.
- He attempted to kill Isabel Peculier in her sleep, only to be stopped by Pirate Tinman, whom he managed to damage before fleeing.
Shadow of Israphel[]
- After being released from the Nether, he built a large pyramid with an obstacle course filled with lava, leading to Xephos and Honeydew dying several times, likely to distract them from interfering with his plans.
- He set a trap under the backdoor to the Yogcave, rigging it with TNT to blow up.
- He attacked Xephos and Honeydew in the Yogcave, attempting to shoot at them with arrows before running away. He later repeated this act a few episodes later.
- He kidnapped Daisy Duke from Terrorvale and later imprisoned her in an undisclosed location, intending to sacrifice her to the Jade Sentinels, reactivate them, awaken the Sand God and conquer the world.
- He attempted to kill Xephos, Honeydew and Peculier when they arrived at his underground castle.
- He is indirectly responsible for Xephos and Honeydew getting stranded on a survival island by leading them to the Hellgate back at the Yogcave.
- While Xephos and Honeydew are away, he destroyed the Yogcave.
- He orders Jock Fireblast to burn down Mistral City and frame Skylord Lysander as one of his deranged cultists.
- He kidnaps Granny Bacon and forcibly transforms her into a zombie, forcing Xephos and Honeydew to slay her.
- Alongside Zombie and Creeper Boss, he attempted to breach the Wall when it was weak and have the Sands further infect the Overworld, battling Xephos, Honeydew and Peculier.
- He is implied to have infected Skylord Baako with the Taint of Israphel, causing him to explode into a puddle of gore and bones.
- He converted Skylord Vitali to his side with the promise of power, leading him to slaughter the other skylords.
- He infected King Finbar, brainwashing him and causing him to transform many of his servants into zombies.
- He created the Evil Honeydew Clones to kill Xephos and Honeydew.
- In a potential future, Israphel is shown to have corrupted the world and turned it into a hellish wasteland he rules over, overrun by monsters and evil robots that obey him.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- Given what can be pieced together about his history and that of the Sands/the Sand War, Israphel is simply a brainwashed, undead slave to the Sand God, incapable of breaking free from its control. Thus, his severe moral agency issues prevent him for qualifying for Near Pure Evil or even Inconsistently Heinous, as he is fully under the control of the Sand God.
- Subsequently, he also has a tragic backstory, having died by creepers and getting resurrected and enslaved by the Sand God to carry out its orders unwillingly.
- He suffers from Fridge Horror, as the fates of Peculier's mother and the townsfolk of Terrorvale is unclear.
- Although he does possess a vague personality, he is a Generic Doomsday Villain.
