~ Humphrey engaging Omori and friends in battle

Humphrey, also known as The Oldest of the three giant creatures of Headspace, is a major antagonist in Omori.

He is a giant, blue whale whose interior serves as the residence of the Slime Girls. Corrupted by gluttony, Humphrey seeks to devour as many clams as he can in an effort to satisfy his hunger, eventually leading to him attempting to kill Omori and his friends upon their visit.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • The Branch Coral states Humphrey "evolved into a parasite within himself", implying that he used to be a good creature, but slowly became absorbed by his obsession to eat until he lost all morality that he once had.
  • There is nothing to suggest Humphrey and the Slime Girls actually cared about each other despite the former allowing the latter to set up operations in his body. Humphrey appears to dislike Molly and Marina due to his buds being mistreated by them under their employment, and while he holds more respect for Medusa, it is very likely their relationship was purely out of pragmatism, as he had no problem betraying her down the line.
  • Although he was initially affable towards Omori and his friends, it was merely a facade to mask his true nature.
  • When Sweetheart refused to pay the Slime Girls, Humphrey ate her, killing her in the main route. However, this is minor since Sweetheart was quite evil herself.
  • When it was discovered Sweetheart had no clams on her, Humphrey turned on the Slime Girls and consumed them as well, causing their deaths. Once again, though, this is justified since the Slime Girls were villainous themselves.
  • In his hunger, he attacked Omori and his friends, attempting to kill them as well just so he could steal their clams to eat.
  • He taunted Omori and friends throughout their fight, attempting to break their will to resist, showing how utterly cruel he is.
  • During his battle, a bunch of skeletons can be seen in the background, hinting that he had previously killed countless individuals in the same fashion as Sweetheart and the Slime Girls.
  • Unlike many other villains in the game, Humphrey's crimes are played for drama and are meant to instill fear in the player.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • While his kill count is undeniably high for the game's low heinous standard, he still fails the in-universe standard to Sweetheart, who imprisoned thirty people and left them to die and Omori himself, who drive Sunny to suicide. He also fails heinous standard to Something who corrupted various residents and kidnapped Basil
  • Although it's implied by the skeletons during his battle that many more people fell victim to Humphrey before Omori and friends arrived, this fact is entirely fridge horror that isn't relevant to the plot. The rest of his actions amount to nothing more than generic "kill the heroes" villainy.
  • He has a few comedic moments, such as four of his buds almost accidentally spelling "B-O-O-B" and one of his buds having the chance to say "I fucking love air conditioning" in some playthroughs.
