Gunter is a major character in the animated fantasy TV series Adventure Time.

He is the penguin that most commonly accompanies the Ice King. Gunter is revealed in the 6th season to be the split personality of Orgalorg, an ancient, cosmic entity who destroys planets.

He was voiced by Tom Kenny (who also voiced Ice King in the same show), while his dream avatar, the Bird Woman, was voiced by Kay Lenz.

His Villainous Deeds[]

He has assisted the Ice King in his evil plans in many episodes.
Despite caring about him, he has occasionally tried to harm the Ice King.
While one can argue that he is on-and-off, his best act was saving Lumpy Space Princess from a walrus in "Orgalorg" which is incredibly bog-standard. He is otherwise a villain with some acts of kindness.
In "Still", he breaks the Unfreezing Potion A bottle which leaves Finn, Jake and the Ice King paralyzed.
In "Reign of Gunters", he attempted to conquer the land of Ooo.
In "Earth and Water", Gunter obtains the Ice King's crown and uses it to create an army of snow snakes which Finn and Jake briefly battle.
Although he was affable with the Cosmic Owl and seemed to like him, It's possible that he'll only use it to get into Princess Bubblegum's dreams.
In "Gumbaldia", he joins Uncle Gumbald and the Legion of Candy Kingdom Haters and presumably helped them in there plan to destroy the Candy Kingdom, unlike the Ice King who was confused on the matter.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

He has some affable moments.
He is way too comedic for NPE, such as his addiction to destroying bottles, Ice King punishing him with spray, and partying with the Princesses, Finn, and Jake instead of ruining it.
He fails the heinous standard to numerous villains in the series. While he does have low resources, he was able to (somewhat) conquer the entire land of Ooo with just Ice King's demonic wishing eye, which is something that not even Gumbald or Hunson Abadeer had the demonic wishing eye to do, but they were still able to do worse.
- Additionally, helping Gumbald destroy the Candy Kingdom was off-screen and under the latter's orders. Also, he was only ever seen joining the Legion of Candy Kingdom Haters and never seen helping them.
He does care about the Ice King, the Penguins and his Kitten son.
He saved Lumpy Space Princess from a walrus proving that he cares for her.
He has a questionable moral agency, as he is an alter-ego of Orgalorg. This is a minor prevention though, as both personalities are evil just in a different way.
