Galand the Truth, usually simplified as Galand is a major antagonist of the anime/manga series The Seven Deadly Sins and its spinoff sequel, Four Knights of the Apocalypse. He is one of the feared Ten Commandments of the Demon Clan. After being resurrected, he becomes a servant of Arthur Pendragon and takes on the Seven Deadly Sins.

He was voiced by Hiroshi Iwasaki in the Japanese version, and by Kirk Thornton in the English dubbed version.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • He aided the Ten Commandments, a group of hegemonic demons without questions.
  • He destroys Liones with a single sweep simply to clear up space in his fight with the Seven Deadly Sins, likely killing multiple civilians.
  • He attacks the Seven Deadly Sins with the intent to kill them before they can grow powerful. He only leaves because Gowther tricks him into thinking he killed them.
  • While this isn't directly his fault, his commandment ends up freezing Merlin when she tries to deceive him, going against his Commandment of Truth.
  • He hunts down and tries to kill Ban and Jericho. When Ban is injured, he sadistically uses a giant bolder as a golf-ball to kill them.
  • He forces, Escanor, who he thinks is a weak innocent civilian into playing an unfair death game with him.
  • He hypocritically flees from his battle with Escanor when he realizes he is outmatched.
  • He attempted to kill the Four Knights of Appocalypse when revived.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • His crimes are mostly normal for other Demons, causing him to fail the heinous standard to villains like Hendrickson, Helbram, Fraudrin and Melascula who commit mass murder and other crimes with similar or less resources.
  • It is implied he genuinely cared for his friend, Baruja. In the Grand Cross mobile game it is confirmed and they are great friends.
  • He seemingly got along with other members of the Demon Clan, most notably Melascula who consider each other friends and protect each other. He also thanks Gloxinia for giving him advice.
  • He is not taken seriously at any moment other than his introduction. He has many laughable moments, such as getting drunk with Melascula and being played as an incompetent minion in later fights.
