ā | Man, if you told me a few years ago I end up in this legit-ass business... (laughs) I'd laugh at your fucking face. | ā |
~ Franklin Clinton to the GTA Online Protagonist. |
ā | Hey! Hey! Enough! You got me out here. You roped me into your crazy world of bullshit. If it was lies, New Age shit and arguments about how good life used to be, I could have stayed my ass in Los Santos. | ā |
~ Franklin Clinton trying to end Trevor and Michael's argument. |
ā | Look homie, I don't mind dying, you feel me? But I just want to die over something that matters, homie, that's what Forum Gangsters should really be about. | ā |
~ Franklin to Lamar Davis. |

He is the archenemy of Devin Weston and Stretch.
He was voiced by Shawn Fonteno.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- Despite being constantly spoiled by his grandmother, Franklin had decided to take on the role of a street hustler.
- One of his first jobs was selling cigarettes with Bradshaw. The scheme was successful until Franklin's grandfather caught them in the act.
- He was expelled from Davis High School for assaulting a teacher. Around this time, he began the life of a gang banger and dope dealer, he and Lamar joined the infamous street gang known as "The Families", and started committing various petty crimes such as carjackings and small-time bank robberies with Lamar. However, Franklin's life of petty crime caught up with him when he was arrested and sent to prison.
- He moved beyond the role of ghetto-based street dealer when he and Lamar began working for Armenian gangster and con artist Simeon Yetarian, who owns a car dealership that acts as a front for a loansharking and extortion business.
- He and Lamar act as repo-men and repossess the cars for Simeon. They also force people into accepting deals if they protest against Simeon's attempts at making them pay more than what their car is worth.
- Under orders from Michael, Franklin smashes the car through the window of Simeon's dealership, receiving a payment from Michael himself for doing what he called "a job well done."
- After Michael catches his wife hanging out with her tennis coach, Franklin assists Michael in chasing the tennis coach to the deck of a Vinewood Hills house.
- Believing the house to belong to the tennis coach (it actually belonged to Martin Madrazo), Michael and Franklin use a pickup truck to pull the deck down, destroying the house. This costed them a lot of money afterwards.
- He enlists Michael on a high-end jewel store robbery.
- He helps Michael to rob the biggest gold depository in the country for their last job before retirement. Depending on the player's choice, the heist either goes down smoothly with Franklin acting as the team's security hacker or one of the drivers of the gold.
- Depending on the ending, Franklin can become even worse; in ending A, he pulls a gun on Trevor and attempts to kill him. In ending B, he chases Michael and tries to kill him. Those two endings are however non-canon. In ending C, which is the canon ending, Franklin chooses to reform and not give up on his friends.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- He massively fails the heinous standards to Trevor Philips who has similar resources but kills way more people in rather brutal ways and has other cruel acts under his belt such as sodomizing his hockey teacher, raping Floyd, torturing Mr. K and slaughtering the O'Neils for losing a business battle to them, and he also fails to Mr. McReary (who also fails the standard himself, albeit to a lesser extent), Eddie Low, Ray Bulgarin and Dimitri Rascalov who all have less resources but did worse with McReary molesting his sons for years, Eddie raping and killing numerous people (including animals and children), Ray running a human trafficking ring and Dimitri betraying Mikhail Faustin and torturing Roman Bellic to spite Niko.
- He is tragic, as he never knew his father and his mother became a cocaine addict when Franklin was still young. Franklin's father left his mother while she was pregnant with Franklin and her addiction eventually led to her death when Franklin was young. His grandparents also died later in his life, and this affected Franklin greatly.
- He is on & off as he occasionally does heroic acts from time to time.
- He genuinely cares for Trevor and Michael, and he is often the voice of reason in the trio.
- He has standards against pointless arguing, as he constantly tries to calm down Michael and Trevor whenever they fight or try to kill each other, and also showed standards when he found that Michael and Lester killed Jay Norris.
- He feels remorse for some of his crimes.
- In ending C, he is redeemed by refusing to turn against his friends and choosing to stop Devin Weston instead. This is also the canon ending.
