Flat Petey is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Flippy) of the 2016 novel, Dog Man Unleashed, (also known as Dog Man: Unleashed), the second installment in Dav Pilkey's Dog Man novel series.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- After being created, he already began thinking of the villainous benefits he had due to being flat.
- He yanks his tail out from being stepped on by one of the ambulance drivers, causing the rock he held to land on the other ambulance driver, which knocked out the both of them.
- He defends himself from being sprayed by Obey Spray by turning his head into a fan and blowing the spray cloud to Boog E. Feeva, making him his personal henchman unwillingly.
- It is revealed that this brought him to a fate worse than death, as it is revealed he was aware of it as when he was out of the brainwashing, he yelled that he had control over himself again.
- He goes into a local museum and uses Living Spray to revive a dinosaur skeleton, which if let out would likely cause the destruction and endangerment of an unknown amount had Flat Petey not put him into a hypnotic trance using Obey Spray.
- He sends his new dinosaur minion to go after Dog Man and chase him, bringing much fear into him and seemingly torturing him.
- He captures Petey's giant treasure chest filled with many stolen riches and valuable objects.
- While Flippy is revealing how he became the Mysterious Stranger, Flat Petey takes his chance and drives the treasure chest up a nearby mountain. This action caused Flippy, as well as everyone else, to follow Flat Petey. There, Flat Petey makes fun of Flippy while he was freezing to death.
- He prevents Boog E. Feeva from being his assistant due to believing that he had done all the work despite Boog E. Feeva aiding severely in his plans up to that point. This also reveals that Boog E. Feeva would not have any free will for the rest of his life due to being forced to obey Flat Petey despite not being given orders to Flat Petey, which brings Boog E. Feeva to an even worse fate had he not successfully been released from his trance.
- On top of the mountain, he runs over Chief's police car, preventing anyone from getting off the mountain and trapping them all there to freeze to death just like Flippy had originally done, sadistically laughing while doing so.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- While his brainwashing that led to the brainwashed into a fate worse than death does genuinely let him pass the baseline, when the person who he put in a fate worse than death snapped out of the brainwashing, he wasn't shown to be bothered at all, downplaying the heinousness of this crime.
- He also failed the heinous standards to Petey the Cat and Piggy who endangered more people with similar resources due to all of them having similar machinery as well as possession of the Living Spray.
- He has several comedic moments that detract from his villainy, such as his annoyed expressions to his assistant and his defeat being played for laughs.
- His moral agency is overall questionable, as he was created due to Living Spray, which is told to turn the object sprayed with it both sentient and evil, meaning he was made to be evil.
