And here I thought I was going to have a problem explaining what happened in your lab. I mean, the police are never going to look at me after what you did! And with this bat-freak dead, there won't be anyone left to say otherwise.
~ Boyle gloating over a defeated Mr. Freeze and revealing his true colors.

Ferris Boyle is the main antagonist of Batman: Arkham Origins sequel DLC episode Cold, Cold Heart, and a mentioned antagonist in both Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight.

He is the CEO of GothCorp, a philanthropic corporation that would be referred as "The People Company". At first, Boyle appeared to be a humanitarian, but in reality, he is a stone-cold and unethical sociopath involved in illegal as well as dangerous weapons manufacturing. Because of this, Ferris is involved in various crimes, including extortion, embezzlement, abduction, and even murder. Through his greed, he is also responsible for Mr. Freeze's condition.

He was voiced by Stephen Tobolowsky, who also voiced Ronald Tompkins in Toy Story of TERROR.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • He made a deal with Victor Fries to help find a cure for his dying wife Nora in exchange for building cryoweapons, but had no intention of honoring their bargain, kidnapping Nora while trying to murder them both in order to save company money.
    • As a result, two guards accompanying Boyle died via exposure to cryogenic chemicals, and Victor (who's now Mr. Freeze) can no longer survive outside of sub-zero temperatures.
  • Due to the fact that he was responsible for Mr. Freeze becoming a villain, he is also responsible for all the people Freeze killed in an attempt to get revenge and get his wife back.
  • He freezes Batman in an attempt to kill him despite rescuing him from Mr. Freeze, after which he starts beating the latter to within an inch of his life while sadistically gloating that he'll keep him alive just long enough to see her die. Thankfully, Batman breaks free from the ice just in time and saves both Freeze and Nora.
  • None of his character traits are redeemable or likable despite his facade of altruism, and he's played very seriously. Boyle is one of the biggest Hate Sinks in the entire Arkhamverse, right next to Riddler and the Penguin.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • He fails the Heinous Standards compared to the likes of Joker, Hugo Strange, and Scarecrow who did much worse. However, Boyle's actions are much more personal compared to some of the rest and Freeze has an important role in Arkham City, so it's only a minor prevention.
