| ~ The body double revealing his motive to Bodhidharma Kanis. |
The Di-Jun Wang's body double is the overarching antagonist of Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Gambit.
While initially presented as Di-Jun Wang, the noble and selfless president of Zheng Fa, it's quickly that the man is actually a cowardly fraud that staged a fake assassination plot to boost his declining reputation.
Later on, it's also revealed that he is not even the true Di-Jun Wang, but instead a body double that killed the real deal various years ago, having conspired together with Fifi Laguarde and Excelsius Winner to steal his position of power.
His Evil Ranking[]
His Villainous Deeds[]
- Having grew envious of the power and the fame that the real Di-Jun Wang received, he conspired together with Fifi Laguarde and Excelsius Winner to kill him and become the president of Zheng Fa himself, hiring an assassin, Bodhidharma Kanis, to take him out.
- He and the other two conspirators also killed a journalist, Alf Aldoon, that was observing the crime scene.
- They also attempted to kill Kanis to leave absolutely no witnesses to the incident, being stopped only by a young Simeon Saint that lit a fire close to them.
- In the present, he decided to stage a false assassination plot as a way to boost his approval as a president, leading to the death of a bodyguard, Bastian Rook. While Bronco Knight did the crime himself, the body double was still willing to let it slide, making him indirectly responsible for Rook's death.
- Later on, he attempted to kill Verity Gavèlle and her adoptive son, Shaun Fenn, out of fear that they may discover his true identity.
- Once discovered by Simeon Saint, he also attempted to shoot him, right before being crushed by his hot air ballon.
- Nothing in the game implies that he cares for his allies, with their alliance being more for pragmatic reasons.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- While his role in the SS-5 Incident and his unique crime of attempted child murder are enough to pass the baseline, he fails the heinous standard of the series for a couple of reasons:
- His rule of Zheng Fa falls too much under Fridge Horror, as nothing showcases just how bad the nation got under his rule. And while in the first game it is said that the nation was hit by an economic disaster, that was the work of Quercus Alba and his smuggling ring, with nothing implying that the body double had a role in this, besides plain negligence.
- He holds back too much on his resources, as he is the president of a whole nation, giving him the possibility of committing worse crimes and yet he doesn't take advantage of that. This is in contrast with villains such as Ga'ran and Inga (who transformed the Kingdom of Khura'in into a totalitarian society where defense attorneys and other political enemies are either oppressed or executed), Stronghart (who created the "Reaper's Curse" and caused the death of various defendants, while also corrupting and manipulating various figures around him), and his own subordinates: Laguarde (who psychologically abused Simeon Saint back in his orphanage, having a more direct hand in turning him what he is now) and Winner (who caused the events of the entire series by giving von Karma his first penalty and thus leading him to cause the DL-6 Incident, in top of having a more direct grip over the law system). All of them have a similiar, if not lower, amount of resources to the body double, and yet are capable of doing worse than him. It doesn't help that some of his crimes are shared with his allies.
