Villainous Benchmark Wiki

Eefera is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Vallug Bowbeast) of The Taggerung, the fourteenth book in the Redwall novel series. He used to be Sawney Rath's trusted fighter and lieutenant of the Juskarath clan when he was leader before he gets slain by Antigra as revenge for killing her mate Gruven long ago. As Antigra takes over as leader and assigns Gruven Zann, who winds up leading a group of eight members of the clan, including Vallug and Eefera, in a hunt against the Taggerung, Eefera and Vallug themselves outwit Gruven Zann whenever he tries to assert authority over them or bully them into submission due to his pathetic nature, eventually abandoning the group with plans to kill the Taggerung themselves and have one of them become the next Taggerung.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • After Sawney had been slain, he sets out on a hunt with a group assigned to Gruven by Antigra and Grissoul to slay the Taggerung, who had been framed for his murder, though he has no interest in avenging Sawney and only did this to gain the Taggerung's title.
  • When he spots a vole during the hunt, he orders the others to try to capture it to interrogate it for information regarding the Taggerung while trying to capture it himself, though Gruven unwittingly gets in the way and crashes into Eefera while Vallug only strikes it in the backpaw with 2 arrows, much to Eefera's frustration.
  • After spending a couple days on the mountain with the group while searching for the Taggerung, he, along with Vallug Bowbeast, decide to partner up and abandon the others to either freeze or starve to death on the mountain so that they themselves can slay the Taggerung with equal intents to backstab and slay the other to get the title and return to camp and fib about what happened to the others.
  • Arriving nearby Redwall Abbey, after Vallug slays Poskra whom Eefera helped notice, they kidnap the children he had kidnapped with intent to hold them hostage to get the Taggerung from the abbey under the initially wrongful assumption that they had him at the time.
  • He told Vallug to slay Fwirl when she attacked them with slingstones and mocked them, though they fail with her retreating and the children they kidnapped having been rescued by the Redwallers.
  • He encourages Vallug to shoot one of the guards on the battletop of the gates of Redwall Abbey, getting him wounded, before they retreat to avoid getting shot back by the Redwallers.
  • At night, he tells Vallug to shoot at Fwirl when she was patrolling the north battlements, wounding her, much to his and Vallug's satisfaction as this meant that she is no longer a threat to them before Vallug shoots a couple arrows at the abbey's bells to alert the Redwallers.
  • While conversing with the creatures, they demanded they get the Taggerung under the initially wrong assumption that they had him and when the Redwallers express confusion due to not having him and not being familiar with the term "Taggerung" and offer a truce, Vallug denies this and shoots a couple more arrows over the wall to give them something to think about before retreating into the woods with Eefera.
  • They ambush Gruven, Rawback, and Dagrab when the three arrive nearby with Gruven ordering them to kill anyone in the camp they set up and rob them of the food they stole from other creatures with Vallug mocking Gruven and forcing him to say he's a gutless worm with his sword before the two decide to tie them up and set them around the fire to use as decoys in case any Redwallers come out to hunt them.
  • At dawn, due to the three still being alive, after Eefera releases the prisoners and issues them with their weapons, they have Gruven, Rawback, and Dagrab go with them up north across the path and into the ditch, then back down to the main gates of Redwall Abbey where they are to use the weapons to make themselves look like Juska warriors.
  • When he and Vallug noticed Nimbalo, the Taggerung's friend, in the woods and knocked him down with his spearbutt unconscious and notice Sawney Rath's blade in the mouse's belt, they get more firm in their assumptions of Tagg being there. Assuming Nimbalo to be a Redwaller, they make plans to use him as a hostage before forcing the three to continue trekking north and enter the ditch.
  • Once Gruven, Dagrab, and Rawback have made slings and collected heaps of pebbles, Eefera orders them to keep slinging stones over the wall and to stop when he tells them to before giving the order to start slinging.
  • When Nimbalo awakens and Vallug and Eefera get alerted of this, the two interrogate him regarding who he is and how much he knows about the Taggerung. When Nimbalo insults them, Eefera deals him a blow and nearly attacks him if not for Vallug stopping him from leaping upon him as he's no use to them dead.
  • When Gruven expresses amusement over this, Eefera slaps him about the face and ears for smiling at the situation with Vallug taking a few kicks at him too before forcing him to continue slinging stones.
  • After continuously forcing Gruven, Dagrab, and Rawback to fire slingstones at the abbey to the point of their paws getting weary and tricking the abbey into thinking they're under siege, when Vallug drags Nimbalo out of the ditch onto the path in front of the abbey's main wallgate, he and Vallug threaten to kill him if they don't give them the Taggerung with Tagg coming out moments later charging at Vallug with the sword of Martin that he took from the abbey and beheading Vallug before pursuing and eventually slaying Eefera as well.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • He massively fails the heinous standard of Redwall due to countless characters in the franchise killing and trying to kill tons more than he had. Even Gruven, Sawney, and Ruggan Bor heavily outheinous him in his own book despite failing the heinous standard badly themselves.
