- He brainwashed the entire village using Dreamcaster, and planned to do the same to other villages across the planet. What's worse is that many of his victims were conscious during the brainwashing.
- He treated his minions so horribly that they all went on strike. While he did start treating them better, it was only so they would end their strike and he could get back to villainy.

Comics[]

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- While attempting to destroy the world pushes him past the baseline, he constantly holds back on his resources compared to Shadow the Hedgehog, who attempted to destroy the entire universe with less resources than him, while Eggman was worried if the universe he sent Sonic into would be destroyed, despite not being in immediate danger because of it. While the black hole he and Dave accidentally created could have destroyed all of existence, it's unknown if Eggman was aware of it.
- He doesn't seem to like the idea of destroying a universe, showcasing standards.
- He is never taken very seriously and is constantly played for laughs.
- He is very affable to those he considers family, such as Morpho and Mombot.
- In fact, he is also capable of being genuinely friendly and tries socializing with the heroes who he has a frenemy relationship with (when they aren't fighting each other of course). A notable example out of the many is when he gave Tails genuine advice to talk to Zoey, saying "In situations this dire, the Bro Code trumps the enemy thing" and asking Sonic what his relationship with Amy is like.
- He was also affable to the other villains when they joined his team, and showed no signs of wanting to betray them nor backstab them, this makes him by far the nicest version of Eggman in general who is still a villain.
- Despite his abuse towards them, he seems to genuinely care for Orbot and Cubot. After deeming technology untrustworthy, he went off the grid from everything except for the pair. When Dave unknowingly deactivates them, he's shows genuine concern and ultimately gives up swearing off his tech for the sake of getting them back, even stating that he was glad they were okay after reactivating them.
- He has a genuine friendship with Amy.
- He has some instances of being a scapegoat, such as being transformed into a small purple creature and having the village laugh at him.
- He is On & Off, as he sometimes works with the heroes to stop a common threat without pragmatic reasons or betraying them. He also saved Beth the Shrew from being incinerated at one point even though there was nothing in it for him and it required him to transform into his purple creature form that he had almost gotten rid of by that point.
- He even saved the heroes during the climax of Rise of Lyric.
- There are some moments where his failures to defeat Sonic are played for sympathy. At one point he even laments that he has a hard time getting out of bed in the morning due to depression.
Trivia[]
- His status is currently under debate because his IH proposal wasnāt rejected or approved, but is left undetermined instead.
- Sonic Boom was initially planned to have a third season, but is was scrapped. Had it been made, it's possible that his status would have been affected.
- Ironically, he and Shadow have opposite statuses to their mainstream counterparts - they are Near Pure Evil and Villainous Benchmark in the games/IDW canon, but the other way around in Sonic Boom.
