Dennis Nedry (Universal Pictures) has been hunted down for the soul to be collected for the following reason(s):
No bog-standard villains allowed. Having read this article, I don’t think anything he does passes the baseline.

Please discuss it on the talk page for this article.

Stop X

Dodgson! Dodgson! We got Dodgson here!
~ Dennis Nedry making fun of Dodgson when the latter says not to say his name publicly.
Ah ah ah! You didn't say the magic word!
~ The recording Dennis Nedry used in his Whte_rbt.obj virus.
Yeah, no wonder you're extinct
~ Nedry mocking the juvenile Dilophosaurus that would soon come to kill him.

Dr. Dennis Nedry is the main antagonist of the 1993 film Jurassic Park, the first installment of the film series of the same name.

He started out as a disgruntled InGen worker who worked for CEO John Hammond, being the leading technician for Jurassic Park. However, being more and more dissatisfied with the money he already had to make a living, Nedry turned to Lewis Dodgson for help, who tasked him with stealing the embryos from InGen for his company Biosyn.

He was portrayed by Wayne Knight, who also played Al McWhiggin in Toy Story 2.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

In General[]

  • He didn't care about anyone but himself, as he only cared about getting extra money from his job instead of actually making Jurassic Park safe for the guests.
  • Though there are villains who pitted dinosaurs against each other, successfully murdered someone, and even threatened the world's food supply, Nedry has fewer resources than them, being a computer programmer rather than a rich businessman.

Jurassic Park[]

  • He conspired with Lewis Dodgson to sabotage InGen, as they arranged for a meeting in Costa Rica where Dodgson bribed him with $750,000 dollars and Nedry accepted it. He also agreed with Dodgson's idea to use a modified Barbasol canister to steal fifteen of the embryos from InGen so he can get a sum of $1.5,000,000 when his task is done.
  • After lying to the InGen staff that he was going to give some of them something to eat and he was thinking of getting a soda, Nedry inserted a virus that shut down all of Jurassic Park's security systems, leading to the dinosaurs being freed from their enclosures and endangering the other staff and the guests, eventually resulting in the deaths of three people.
  • He stole the fifteen embryos which also included some of the most dangerous dinosaur species, including the Tyrannosaurus and Velociraptor, before trying to flee to the East Dock to give them to his contact working for Biosyn at the docks.
  • He callously told a juvenile Dilophosaurus that he was going to run it over when he gets back down from the slope his jeep got stuck in, not knowing that hooking the jeep's wire to the tree and driving it down could allow him to run over the dinosaur and allow him to survive longer.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • Even though he does have a few moments where he is taken seriously, as well as not having any redeeming qualities confirmed, Dennis Nedry is still too comedic and seriousless to be ever NPE or PE, as he is mostly played for laughs in most scenes where he is in and he is not taking his job ordered by Lewis Dodgson fully seriously.
  • He still fails the heinous standard of the series as Mitch and Tiff successfully killed multiple dinosaurs and tried to deliberately kill six minors, both with even fewer resources than what Nedry had. There’s also Sonya Santos (who killed several people with her trained dinosaurs) and Eli Mills, whom murdered someone with his bare hands. Nedry wasn't even trying to kill the juvenile Dilophosaurus though he didn't care that it could get run over, and dinosaurs aren't sapient in the series anyway.
  • The fact he didn't know that his actions would lead to the deaths of three people alone makes him fail the baseline, even ignoring a body count of three people doesn’t pass the baseline. He was also unaware he was endangering many more people stuck on Isla Nublar.
