Claude is the main protagonist of Grand Theft Auto III, as well as a minor antagonist in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Very little is specifically known about Claude's past and his personality, as Claude himself doesn't speak at all in any of the games and never reveals any details about himself.
His grunts and pain sounds are provided by Hunter Platin.

- It's left unclear if he cared for Maria Latore or not and it's unknown if he killed her in the final cutscene of the game as it was left ambiguous since he may have just fired a warning shot to shut her up.
His Villainous Deeds[]
- In the introduction, he was seen robbing a bank alongside Catalina, Miguel, and other members of the Colombian Cartel.
- He’s a cold blooded killer who will kill anyone for money or as a means of getting back at Catalina.
- He helped Marty Chonks turn people into dog food.
- He agreed to kill Kenji Kasen on behalf of Donald Love, the former of whom was much more helpful towards him within the storyline. This was probably because it involved disrupting the Colombian Cartel, which was led by Catalina.
- Much like any other GTA protagonist, he is capable of driving recklessly, gunning people down, beating people up, and carjacking people in free roam.
Why He Doesn’t Stand Out?[]
- While he passes the general-baseline, his actions are very common for a Grand Theft Auto protagonist. Due to this, he fails the Heinous Standards to Toni Cipriani (who massacred Giovanni Casa, sold his flesh to his own butchery and blowed up part of Fort Staunton, killed thousands of innocent people in the process) and Carl Johnson (who buried a foreman alive under cement, killed many innocent cops and shredded many innocent farmers with a combine harvester).
- He is somewhat sympathetic as he was betrayed by Catalina and left to die after she shot him which is the reason for his revenge mission.
- He is genuinely affable and capable of forming friendships with those who treat him with respect and a level of understanding, such as 8-Ball, Asuka, and Ray, granted they do not betray him.
- He lacks sufficient characterization to scale him high in heinousness.
- He is On & Off as he has done some heroic things such as rescuing the old oriental gentleman from the Cartel, rescuing Maria from Catalina (although debatable if he killed Maria afterwards) and destroying shipments of SPANK.
