Christof Sievernich is a major antagonist in Naoki Urasawa's Monster anime/manga series. He is a disciple of Johan Liebert.

His Evil Ranking[]

His Villainous Deeds[]

  • While hiding during the Kinderheim 511 riot, he manipulated another boy into going out of hiding and presumably get himself killed by claiming another boy they were hiding with had abandoned them.
  • He aided Johan Liebert in his plans, knowing about his desire to end all life on Earth.
  • In high school, he impregnated a virgin girl named Freida Schelling and took no responsibility for doing so. This would lead to a political outbreak and her eventually getting assassinated to tie up loose ends on Johan's part (possibly as per Christof's request.)
  • After taking his father place (with the implication he killed him himself), it's implied that he took a part in the Neo-Nazis Organization plans to burn down the Turkish District.
  • For seemingly no reason, he taunted and laughed at Martin about his traumatic past of leaving his drunken mother to freeze to death then later his girlfriend's suicide after cheating on him with another man.
  • He attempted to intimidate the Baby and he (or possibly Johan) later send a stripper to seduce and kill him when he doesnā€™t submit to the threat. While the Baby admittedly deserved to die, Christof wanted to kill him solely for not following Johan's plan.
  • He loses his temper and attacks Eva when she shoots him in the ear, aiming a gun and threatening her. While he had a right to defend himself, he was going to take sadism in killing her as he would laugh about it.

Why Doesnā€™t He Stand Out?[]

  • His crimes rely on Fridge Horror, as it is unclear how complicit he is in Johan's plans and his other crimes are mostly ambiguous. As this, he fails the standard to Johan and Roberto, the latter of whom has a much more direct part in Johan's plan and sadistically assassinated several people.
    • While he also ended up being one of the leaders of the Neo-Nazis Organization, it is left unknown if he celebrated with Goedelitz and Capek plans. While Goedelitz mentions that all 4 leaders share the same ideas, General Wolf was only in the organization to secretly stop Johan and he didn't took a part in the burning down of the Turkish District, while Christof role in that event is left vague.
  • He has a legitimate tragedy of being an orphan experimented on in Kinderheim 511, causing him to lose his emotions. One day, when Johan began a riot that killed over 50 staff and children, he survived by hiding in a kitchen cupboard for a lengthy period of time and felt abandoned when he sent out two other boys to look for help, feeling abandoned when they didnā€™t come back.
  • He has some moral agency issues due to his experimentations, which resulted in him being unable to understand emotions after irreversible brain damage.
  • He is honorable as he seems to show respect for Tenma for saving his life and even if it was fake emotions of gratitude, it is still played with sympathy.
  • He has genuine respect for Johan, viewing him as his savior.

Trivia[]

  • It is theorized by some that he was complicit in helping Johan set up a false bank used to scam people and then ended up abandoning the project, resulting in all of the employees killing each other. If this were true, he would likely be Inconsistently Heinous or Near Pure Evil.
