Camilla Reyes is the main antagonist of "0-8-4", the second episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She is an officer of a special unit of the Peruvian Armed Forces with the intention of using the 0-8-4 weapon to rule all of Peru.
She was portrayed by Leonor Varela.
Her Evil Ranking[]
Her Villainous Deeds[]
- Despite an initial skirmish, Reyes and Coulson were able to discuss the situation with the object concerning the Peruvian government's interests and the local rebels, while also fondly catching up on each other's recent lives. When a group of rebels attacked the archaeological site, both Coulson's Team and Reyes' soldiers were able to escape to the Bus, which began a route for a nearby S.H.I.E.L.D. base.
- While on board the Bus, Reyes had her men follow Phil Coulson's traveling procedures, relinquishing their weapons before relaxing in the passenger area.
- Though she conversed with Coulson in his office, he realized that she was attempting to seduce him, due to her being "more direct than usual", deducing that it was a ruse to distract him while her men took over the Bus.
- Reyes intended to take over the Bus in the interest of the Peruvian government in order to secure the 0-8-4 from S.H.I.E.L.D. due to a difference of interests and Peru's claim to the object, as well as Reyes' interest in ruling Peru with it.
- Taunts Coulson about having a midlife crisis and his lack of awareness about it, pointing out his use of the Bus and having a group of attractive, young agents working under him.
- She also threatens Coulson, by holding him at gunpoint, demanding he answer the call or she will drop his teammates out of the plane and have them know what a "30,000 foot drop feels like"
- While Coulson does save her from being flown off the plane, he does subdue and hold her captive.
- Her fate remains unknown after being defeated by Coulson and his team He also claimed that he felt Camilla would eventually be released back to her government. It is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
- Her relationship with her men is professional and it is likely she doesn't care for them, as she shows no concern when May,Fitz, Simmons, Ward and Skye overpower them.
- Her friendship with Coulson is subverted as when Coulson reminds them of their friendship and asks when she decided to abandon it, she reveals it was the moment she saw his team.
- Despite Ward being more heinous, he has a higher kill count, more screentime and resources and personal villainy towards Coulson and his former teammates, as his actions have harmed them more severely after betraying them.
Why She Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- Though she passes the baseline due to attempting to use the 0-8-4 to gain power and hijacking the Bus after betraying Coulson and his team, she fails the high heinous standards of the MCU, as other human villains have done far worse with similar or more resources. While it's unfair to compare her to Garrett or Whitehall, she still fails the heinous standard to Agent 33, Christian Ward and Sunil Bakshi, who have more personal villainy to Coulson and his team.
- She is an anti-villain and driven by patriotism. Her willingness to use the powerful weapon (the 0-8-4) to crush the rebel is to bring stability and peace to her country Peru. She believes that her methods, although harsh and violent, are justified by the greater good of ending conflict and protecting her nation. However, given how power hungry and opportunistic she is, this is a minor prevention.
